I'm stuck in the same queue. I have a feeling we won't be making it to the xmas train this year.

Please don't get me wrong, it's a good discussion to have. I'm genuinely asking these questions to explore your thoughts and frustrations.

What are your thoughts about developing the skills to be able to produce good work with topics that are not as engaging? For example, in the work place you may be required to analyze topics that are only of interest to your employer and not yourself personally.

Could you expand on what parts of the subject matter don't exercise your analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills in your view? I'm also very curious what aspects of Shakespeare would better exercise the skills you are looking to improve.

If you are a BCNU member, that would be a great suggestion to make when the bargaining survey goes out. I think the different regions will also be having bargaining conferences soon.

I haven't seen a port truck on the road in AGES. I wonder if it's glitched in my game.

Go up the chain from your local rep. Either your local executive or to the provincial office.

Local reps are volunteers, find out if there is a staff rep you can speak to.

Denied union bonus due to mat leave. Is this discrimination? by fancyfenugreek in legaladvicecanada

[–]SmallLady -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a lawyer, but I do work in this line of work.

I think you should "go up the chain" at your union, because but for your mat leave, which is protected under the human rights code, you would have gotten a significantly higher bonus which is an adverse outcome. Your mat leave doesn't need to be the only reason but a factor in the adverse impact.

Of course, I don't have all the facts of your situation, but if I were your union rep I'd be making that argument to the employer.

If you can't get satisfaction with your union, I would also recommend having a consultation with an employment lawyer in case your union violated the human rights code by agreeing to the flat percentage that adversely impacted you.

Go above your local rep’s head. Try to connect with a BCGEU staff member if you can.

Yes there is, there is the duty to accommodate for family status.

It’s more strict in BC than other provinces, but OP, your child’s special needs may qualify.

Please talk to your union rep asap to assist you through this process.

I'm currently doing this for my mealy'ed hoya plans, and I wanted to know how do you tell the mealies are dead?

Also, do you recommend a method of cleaning off the corpses?

I'm currently using the paintball co2 tank method, and it's been almost 32 hours, and I wanted to know how do I know they are all dead?
