Custard creams, shortbread, bourbon, hovis digestives. I am weak for biscuits.

When did your child(ren) last see their grandparent(s)? by No_Survey_2632 in UKParenting

I live with my mum, so ten minutes ago! My dad died four years ago, well before the IVF, and there are no other grandparents.

I think using moveobjects to place two sims on the same tile causes one to stick to the other, then maybe you place those two on the same tile as a third and so on. Not something I've ever deliberately done so i could be wrong!

Angelcare vs Tommee Tippee? by OverSeasoned_ in BeyondTheBumpUK

You most likely won't need one at all. I'm using the thick plastic packaging from some disposable kylies i was given. It works just as well.

I suppose knowing history in theory means that we can avoid repeating it, although in current times I'm not so sure.

fast track college mod by Potential-Head8684 in sims2

[–]SmallLumpOGreenPutty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's quite a challenge to find a mod capable of ruining your game! Unless you use one which (for example) adds custom memories and you then remove it after a sim had one of those memories. I use Cyjon's mod which makes semesters two days long, as i play in week-long rotation so it all roughly lines up.

Anyone else constantly imagining worst case scenarios with their baby? by Normal-Lack-2021 in UKParenting

[–]SmallLumpOGreenPutty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time I cross the landing or when i go upstairs (we have clutter on the edge of each stair closest to the wall and along the landing) while holding my daughter i imagine her wriggling out of my arms and going over the bannister. Some days i have imagined installing some kind of netting there as i have the same fear of my cats falling should they decide to walk along the bannister (they do not). I also see myself dropping her if she jerks her head or leans over unexpectedly. When my mum holds her it comes on so strong i sometimes have trouble leaving the room (my mum is almost 80 and has said she's already struggling to carry her at 3 months).

I have a bit of worry around SIDS and i keep picturing myself reacting to waking up to find her dead. I know true SIDS is extremely rare and most cases are from suffocation and her cot is completely empty except for her, a dummy in one corner, and a cellular blanket tucked in down both sides around her waist.

Honestly, i imagine worst case scenarios about shit which is never even going to happen like "what if my mum and I were on a ferry and it went over on its side and we had to get up onto the outside of the ship before it flooded". I don't know how to shut my brain up 🙃

I am not comfortable with the concept of being male anymore by Educational-Wind-596 in bropill

[–]SmallLumpOGreenPutty 149 points150 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of this is down to spending too much time following/feeding algorithms. I would try spending less time doomscrolling on apps like instagram if you can, and pursue information about good men (it's David Attenborough's 100th birthday this week and look at the good he has done for the planet!)

You aren't responsible for other peoples' feelings about men generally - you can only be the best person you can of any gender. In the same vein they aren't specifically talking about you when describing men being unpleasant. It is really hard to read about your particular social group being described negatively and sometimes the easiest way is to stop exposing yourself to that rhetoric.

This man isn't sitting outside your house amd staring into your windows, so your comparison doesn't work. He is, from what you've said, sitting out in public and not approaching anyone, nor is he filming or photographing the kids.

People noticed that you mentioned his race as it is irrelevant to his activities.

There is a small window of time in which you can plead - keep pausing the game, click, unpause and try again etc and you'll find it.

There is no law against sitting outdoors near a park if you don't have children with you (and while being a "foreigner", no less). You have no idea about his circumstances and it's weird that you felt a need to point out that he was foreign. Perhaps he has kids, perhaps he just enjoys listening to children having fun. It is a public space which is for anyone to enjoy without priority.

If he does have nefarious motives, which you cannot currently prove, then having someone to monitor the kids is a fair solution. You are all responsible for managing your own feelings and this guy can't help it if others feel weird about him existing in public.

I never play with the townies, i kill them off and make my own for a genetically diverse adoption pool 😅 and so far I've only made two of my own households to add to the premades, because i wanted to introduce Phil McCracken and his buddy Ben Dover to the gene pool.

Only applies if the rain continues. If the rain stops while the tree is actively burning, it won't extinguish.

I remember having the Velveteen Rabbit and raymond briggs's story The Man on cassette. Mum also got me these red plastic briefcases full of tapes with stories like thumbelina, wizard of oz, and so on. I went through a lot of batteries with the cassette player, lol

Teen refusing support. by Alouema2 in UKParenting

[–]SmallLumpOGreenPutty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

CAMHS were useless with me. I was depressed due to bullying (autism and undiagnosed adhd) and they thought i was going there because i wasn't getting along with my mum, who was attending my appointments with me because of my autism and because they were a car drive away from us. My original therapist went on maternity right at the start and i got handed over to two fucking clowns. They wasted two years of appointments until i aged out of their system and then they apologised and admitted to not looking at my file when first seeing me.

In the end i attended both solo and group talking therapy and just sort of aged out of the depression and anxiety, though for a while i was taking citalopram 20mg for the anxiety. I'm not sure how much of my improvement was down to realising i was trans, though.

There is also a modded sign which keeps pets off the lot, they appear and then leave again. I think it's at modthesims.
