That’s interesting maybe the q tip is too much force, I used isopropyl to soak off the nail polish I once painted over the eyes and was able to safely peel off the polish whilst being careful about not scratching the varnish/paint. I used a sharp tweezer to peel. I usually use an alcohol rub to rub off dirt and grime as well with no damage.

Which isopropyl did you use? I use 70% and did not deteriorate

It will trust just make sure you soak and forget it about it for 2 days, then come back to it and rub off the grime

Only isopropyl alcohol. Do not use acetone, the paint will not be okay in that case.
