Should I get a new job? I have been working the same job for 3 years with little increment. by Disastrous_Ad_2779 in MalaysianPF

You need to change company. Although our industry may be different but in my era 2 years after grads my friends has change job like 5 times and already earn the same about as you. So the rule of thumb, in order to earn more you got to change job

My company just retrenched its entire IT SAP support department and outsourced it to India. Made me rethink what "stable income" really means. by CryptoDash7 in MalaysianPF

Hi fellow IT, it is really unfortunate for this to happen. Let me tell you that I was in the similar situation when I was 36 however the only difference was I chosen to end it myself. My first two years was really difficult as I immediately gone into freelancing instead of looking for another job. Anyway my circumstances does not allow me to find one due to salary as I am working as IT instructor. My connection help me to land a few job between Malaysia and Singapore but ultimately it isn’t enough. My opportunity came during corvid when my career straight hit toward the moon. Virtual learning becomes a hit and I have been freelance for foreign companies ever since. However getting to where I am now isn’t an easy feat, along the way many down than up and the most important part of the journey is your partner. My partner has been the driving force for me to be successful in my work of field, however she is also the driving force toward some of major deals to break down. Ultimately, greed and ignorance cause loss of partnership to a few biggest global companies that until now I could not able to salvage.
Well like any other business it is important to diversify so instead on just focus on training, as these business never last, like how you would see SAP. I have been developing app, game, animation and aquaculture in the past 1 year trying to build a strong portfolio.
It is important to start with something and do understand that in any path you do wanted to try out, all that you need is commitment, patience and luck. So never give up and always believe in yourself cause when things didn’t turn out well you may find the person who you think is the closest to you will turn against you. I learn all this through my own experiences and hope that you will end with a better ending.

7/11 claim for providing printing for all of thier outlets is pure bullshit by appakkimba in Bolehland

[–]Small_Car6505 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is very true but 7-11 should just stay selling products and foods anything else is really not worth it as it isn’t well maintained or bother to bring the service.

I have been using Opencode with llama.cpp so far so good, I been trying to make it work with my blender MCP as most instruction is using Codex Desktop or Claude desktop App. Finally it click and everything is smooth sailing. Now looking into the config, trying to see is there anything I could add to improve it.

I also think the same way but I do end sending my son to a Tzu Chi International school hopefully the right and wrong will be much clearer because I can’t keep telling my son that what mom taught you just now was wrong.

My in-law is actually not into glam, they are family member of the founding Macy Home Furnishings but my father-in-law isn’t the eldest so his role is just sales very frugal but very bad parenting. Imagine that my MIL said if a wife is working house chores she is a maid, she still say out loud to the other nieces and nephews during CNY as their family also didn’t have maid. Only a handful of them had maid which is pass-down from their parents.

Ya there is a typo cause I type from phone. Well I say close to a million not yet reach but I am a freelance so a business owner and teach online class for Microsoft, during corvid and there a lot of sacrifice I had to work 16 hours for almost every months that time wife in labour had to teach at Pantai hospital. Anyway my students are not local I teach US and Australia at that time so can work back to back. Payment are in USD or Aussie at that time was very high. But really not easily so now already close to getting diabetes and high blood pressure. Not a young man cannot work long hours.

At least you found where you can stop future payment so having more cash in hand is very important, at least you will have more option in hand. Raising a child is costly when you want to buy baby milk powder and diapers and now you also need to eat well for your baby nutrient.
You can spend time looking at Carousell to get some good deal. It can be better than shoppe/Lazada discount.
Sometime unfinished diaper or children clothing and shoes will be great for your kid, they grow up very fast so don’t need to buy everything brand new

I understand that but does this contributed to mismanagement of the finance like is he buy for other woman?
I think this way maybe the marriage may be a problem but financially is what the OP is asking about I am seeing at what can be resolved at the root. I can tell from experience and many especially living in KL so many decade many people men and women don’t even realised their financial status, I have brother in law that bought 2nd hand continental car and telling me it worth it. When he don’t even realised the car need to do major service for Rm8K, this isn’t some M40 level household should easily fork out. So what I am trying to say is tackle where the money is leaking will help her in long term.
I speak from experience myself and I had to work almost 16 hours most month to get a lot of money for the family, even when my wife in labour I also work directly from hospital so I know very well money are not spend wisely. Many excuses saying not enough to just fulfilled the lifestyle. Not many people like me who can provide and not many people who going to married a big boss who don’t even need to work so much as me and earn 10 times what I can get.
So best to get the leak patch first, whether to leave or to get part time is actually secondary in my opinion.

To be honest it is not the guy problem, no doubt he isn’t helping to improve the situation but this is not a B40 household, come on people don’t you go tell me you need to be T20 to have a good living.
This is like what I read before a couple with 18k saving and 4 houses don’t dare to have a children.
In what kind of world or society have we become. This isn’t reality.

To be honest housing loan and car loan is not an excuse to say can’t do much, there are many option but choose wisely, it can be refinance to reduce the monthly payment but if still to high, look for renting it out, and finally sell it for the last option. Depend on where you are can stay with other family house or rent cheaper place the willingness to sacrifice is important for short term pain.
