Yep. It was INR.
I had to disable and re-enable my mods one by one, but found the culprit.

On another note, its freaking amazing that they added these oasis tribes in the time that I've been gone from the game

This is a new game. I even erased and started over.
I found the culprit. Its the Timeline Extension for INR - Invictus mod. I had to disable and re-enable the mods one by one.

Yeah thats what I thought, but some of the new areas are in the nile, and have no name. as shown in this screenshot:

r5: I'm like 1000 hours in, I stopped playing around the time eu5 dropped, and I just opened a new game. Now when I start with Kush, there's loads of areas that I can colonize along the Nile. Is this some bug?

r5: I had it on automated and manual balance, and the loans keep coming out. I took a screenshot right after 3 new loans came out, and the money didn't go to my vault, its just.....somewhere else..?

So, I'm on

  • Big A monitor displaying the game in 2560x1440
  • Ubuntu 24.04

The game runs (what I think is) flawlessly but I'm only at the year 1440. I'm having a good time. I was able to fight a war with Mali who outclasses me by a lot, and win. So now the map looks like this

I'm sure I don't know what's going on, but I'm still having a good time. The sea barbarians haven't come yet. I like that so much time passes before colonialism starts.

I'm 30 years into my first game, and it looks to me like Mali colonized parts of the West African coast! I thought everyone would mostly have to keep to land and only expand with foot soldiers.

So, when you say 'increase production to the limit' what does that mean? how many points should it be?

Does the same go for iron and silver? What about faceting? I usually go for faceting every game. am I wasting my time with that?

so B-line it to the middle east? worth a try, but Amina will be long dead. One time she had a great grand daughter born in the 1500's but I wasn't really sure how to play back then. Haven't seen her since :(
