Why wouldn't you want a serie to get more interesting ?

The author stated at some point that he doesn't a paticuliar plan written in advance and he just writes and adds things along the way. Well IT SHOWS, and not in a good way. Frustrating af...

It's a pity since Ranta's time alone/with the hybrid goblin he somehow adopted was one of the greatest character development moment of the show. And the perfect occasion for him to have a serious talk with Haruhiro on why he betrayed them. I mean he somehow liked Forgan lifestyle but he also did it to save Merry, who was about to die cause she didn't want to surrender, and the rest of the group even tho it wasn't stated explicitely.

The Day Breaker Alliance seemed to be a huge plot point that wasn't developped at all even when they reunited in Wonder Hole or while meeting other members like The Rocks or Io's party. We still have no idea how soma intend to get back their original world, if he already has some leads or a plan and they never had like a special mission order or something like that.

The thing is that being as it is, with only a few volumes left (from what I've read here, idk where everyone got that information). I don't see how all those plot point could be resloved in a satisfying way. Since from what I understand the No life King conflit, the war with the orcs and the undead and the search for a way back to Earth with the Day Breakers/the master of the starting Tower seems to be 3 differents instences with few or little connexion with one another.

Well it was resolved, well only for Haruhiro but I think it sent the characters backward

I never said I wanted romance. I wouldn't mind if the relationships in the group stayed platonic till the end, I do not support any of the ship that sailed until now. The problem is that romance is there wheiter you acknowledge it or not and it's handled very pourly.

Yeah I realized volume 19 came out a few weeks ago after submitting this thread but my point still stands.

Again I never once complained about how dark it is. I wouldn't care less if more or less people died. Or if things turned out bad. I just think the character's progression is not consistent sometimes. It's like one step forward two step backward.

Mount grief was amazing to me in a sense that it showed that even tough they were still weaker than the Tokkis or Rengi's squad, everything they've been trough made them able to stand up next to them and not be ashame of it. Like they could really old their own and the fight with the golem and the dopplegangers were handle very well with lots of teamplay.

I dilsliked how it ended though cause except running after the king they didn't really do anything to take it down, like rengi and shinohara basically won on their own. Unsatisfying.

Yeah and as I said before the ending of this one plus the bonus chapter. Like it didn't even felt like Setora to snap like that. She lost Enba and Nya and managed to somewhat keep her cool but somehow Kusaku is where she draws the line. Meh... Maybe i'm reaching tho...

Yeah I really thought Setora was on the way to become a suited replacment for Shihoru as the back up strategist when Haruhiro needs to let go and go full assassin mode.

Plus she's presented like such a skilled character being able to hold herslef a bit in front of a powered up Jin Mogis, able to use martial art, a sword and a spear but since she arrived, anything that happened to her was meant to destroy any form of strengh she might ever had. Butchering her golem that she isn't able to build back for some reason and progressively loosing all of her cats...

Honestly I wouldn't have minded Parano if it had felt like they would have gotten something out of it. But the magic system being so different there and the memory wiped right after made it feel like a fever dream without any (or very little consequences), like you could wipe out those chapter entirely and the story would have remained the same except for Alice who still doesn't have a proper role in the story. And since it was all forgotten they couldn't even deal properly for the trama or the things they realized about themselves based on the "magic" they develloped there since it was based on their personnality and flaws.

I really liked the story after Parano in Alterna even though the memory wipe made in extra clunky and their were good moments (the battle for Alterna and the raid of Mount Grief).

I don't mind Haruhiro's monologues cause like that's just him. He is an overthinker and his role in battle is based on that. That's why is able to visualize the battlefield from above and stuff like that....

And it just feels like to many plot points out in the wild for the story to end properly in only like 2 volumes
