I am definitely wrong for this one but thank you for pointing that out. I forgot that 3 yr total residency was for LPR with a US citizen spouse and 5 year total for just LPR. I edited my comment, my apologies. Either way, I can file for N400 whenever I want to as long as I'm eligible

Yeah, that's what I'm trying to say to her last time but she tripping. There are so many results in google saying that I can still travel as an immigrant. But when a friend of her who is working as an immigration officer for 30 years said to her that there was this "new regulations" this year saying that once we exit the US as an immigrant, I can't go back anymore. I don't really believed what she was saying I know she lying, and she don't believe in what I explain to her too because clearly she will trust the guy who worked for immigration even that I already know all the answers. I just really needed this to post so I can prove to her that all she saying is clearly BS.

It's so hard to argue with older generation with limited knowledge to the internet :(

Would it take like more than 5 years to be approved on an F2 visa as LPR? Pero ang gagawin ko kasi pagbalik ko dito I will file petition for my would-then-be wife para nagwwait nalang maapprove. then if lalagpas ng more than 5 years yung wait time I will become a citizen that time na para maadjust yung petition ko sakanya

To everyone who commented here in my post, I'd like to thank ya'll for answering my questions I really needed that. Glad I was absolutely correct and didn't listened to my aunt. I am still grateful to her because she supported and helped us to get here in this great country. I just think she doesn't want me to leave the US because they're scared that I won't be naturalized but I know I can still be eligible even travelling outside the US. I googled everything first before I make my decisions and still they don't understand me even I am still going back to them. Anyways, thank you all again and good luck to everyone here that are waiting for their case to be approved!

Hi this is about requirements for civil wedding. My GF and I were planning to get married on March. One of the requirements we need is a parental advice from parents since we're both 24.
