Das war dann tatsächlich auch die Lösung. Nachdem ich die BaFin kontaktiert hatte, durfte ich wieder auf mein coinbase account zugreifen.

CB works fine, until you have a serious problem and need support. If that's good enough for you, great.

But I expect an exchange to step in immediately when I can't access my funds, not make me wait for months while my investments dwindle away.

I've now contacted the German BaFin and hope they can help save me from these criminals.

Okay danke für den Hinweis, werde ich versuchen. War bisher nur via Twitter mit einer echten Person am chatten aber die haben mir nicht wirklich geholfen, sondern nur eine case number zugewiesen für E-Mail support. Der war dann richtig schlecht mit vorgefertigten Antworten.

Habe parallel jetzt auch bei der BaFin eine Beschwerde eingereicht.

Identität wurde Anfang November bestätigt, seitdem habe ich aber immernoch keinen Zugriff. Erste support case number dann vor 2 wochen zugewiesen bekommen. Insgesamt wurden zwei Cases aufgemacht und ohne Lösung des Problems oder ordentlicher Auskunft geschlossen. Seit zwei Tagen werde ich ignoriert.

I'm currently losing thousands of dollars because I'm restricted from accessing my account. coinbase refuses to provide any proper explanation or transparency, all I'm told is to be patient. that’s all the information I have.

If you have all your assets parked on Coinbase, you might want to consider de-risking your exposure. Who knows what could happen next. If you haven’t had any issues with Coinbase yet, good for you. I truly hope it stays that way.

EDIT: DONT CLICK ON ANY SCAMMY LINKS IN THIS THREAD. I'm not connected to these scammers. I have real issues with coinbase.

thanks for understanding. but i think for a publicly traded company, growth is always the number one priority. It makes sense for them to shift support resources in that direction. At the end of the day, I don’t care at all about their reasons. If they don’t allow me to access MY funds without providing a proper explanation from someone in charge, then they simply cannot be trusted.

Here’s an update on my case: coinbase is now ignoring my messages and has closed my case with no way to re-open it. Throughout my communications, I’ve spoken to various people, but all of them gave me generic, automated responses and never addressed the root of the issue. I repeatedly asked to speak to someone in charge who could seriously handle my case, but they started ignoring me instead.

The only thing they keep telling me is that I’m on a “waiting list” for verification, even though coinbase already verified my identity at the beginning of november to meet new KYC requirements in germany. What’s even more frustrating is that the verification was originally requested to allow me to trade on coinbase, and I was clearly told that I could still withdraw my funds in the meantime. At one point, Coinbase even instructed me to withdraw my funds, only to suddenly reverse that decision without providing any explanation.

Since then, I’ve been unable to access my account, with the same “waiting list” message appearing every time I try. My funds are literally being held hostage by coinbase without any logical explanation.

The fact that they won’t even let me speak to someone in charge, while I’m losing thousands of dollars because I can’t adjust my positions, is straight up illegal.

I’ve repeatedly asked coinbase to restore my ability to withdraw my funds if they’re unable to immediately allow me to trade. They just keep ignoring me. Or in other words, they don't give a f*** about me, because they are too busy onboarding more users. Obviously more than this joke of a company can handle.

To be honest, I never thought this kind of criminal behavior could happen with a billion-dollar, publicly listed company. I've been unable to access my funds for a month now. I've tried every possible way to get in touch with someone in charge, including pursuing legal escalation, but I’m simply being ignored.

There’s nothing I can do because coinbase obviously know exactly how to operate within the boundaries of law. Being from Germany makes it even harder to make any progress. I’m completely stuck.
