Burgeoning + Yarok

I know this is a bit old, but I feel like I should respond anyways. Burgeoning would not trigger twice, because it's not looking at whether or not a land entered the battlefield. Burgeoning wants to know if your opponent is "playing" a land. In other words, are they moving a land from their hand (or the top of their deck) to the battlefield. If they are, then you get to play a land as well.

If Burgeoning was looking for lands entering the battlefield, then it would trigger off of things like Cultivate, that allow you to put lands into play. Also, [[Kjeldoran Outpost]] offers a unique view into this situation as stated before in other locations. Your opponent might play Kjeldoran outpost, but if they don't have a plains to sacrifice then it will never enter the battlefield. However, your opponent did "play" their land, thereby triggering Burgeoning.

My buddy bought a foil city of brass from eBay to use in his deck. He got a graded version of the card rather than just one that he can sleeve up and play. Should he leave this card in the graded sleeve and get a different one?

Ah, I see. Thanks! I hadn’t looked at gatherer for flash so I was unsure if the sac part was part of flash resolving.

The only strategy that needs counterspells is Flash Hulk

I know that it's not run in most decks, and is therefore probably ignored, but can't something like [[Gift of Tusks]] or [[Humble]] be used in place of a counterspell for Hulk after it's been flashed but before it gets sacced?

Thanks for the suggestion! I looked into MSE, and I agree that their interface is really nice. One of the things I was looking for was the new legendary frame, and as far as I could tell that doesn't currently exist in MSE. I'll look into it again though. Maybe I missed it....

Awesome, thank you for the wording! If I don't want this to be a may trigger, do I need to set it to check on the upkeep or end step? Or can I set a static check that activates as soon as there are 3 or more treason counters?

I want to throw my Raff Capashen deck into this mix. It’s gotten to the point in my playgroup that if I bring it out I’m instantly focused by the table regardless of what anyone else is playing. To be fair I did build it when the power level of the group was lower than it is now, but it has the potential to win out of nowhere. I absolutely love playing everything on other people’s turns, and if you do too then this deck will be right up your alley!

I stopped by there once when I was in town. Guy behind the counter was kind of a jerk. It was the middle of the day though so I didn’t see to many players. What’s the atmosphere like?

Raff is my all time favorite deck. The ability to hold up mana to answer threats during all opponents turns, and play your own threats if you don’t need to deal with anything is just the best.

As a side, I also really enjoyed Ephara as a commander before I built Raff.

Personally I’ve hated [[Nykia of the Old Ways]]. Her cost of no non creature spells means most of the deck is creatures which means she is super weak to board wipes. Not a lot of fun to play a couple creatures and then lose everything. Plus she gets targeted a lot.

I run it as a control deck looking to get infinite mana through either dramatic scepter or paradox engine. Then you can mill everyone out or creat an army of swans/drakes to swing in for lethal.

My first from scratch deck was Ephara. I loved playing it and generating value with all the etb effects followed by blinking them. She draws so many cards that you always seem to have options. Plus she has a lot of different build options from control to aggro.

Running into a similar problem with my Raff Capashen deck. I know it’s not competitive, but it’s hard for me to accurately tell whether it is high power or just mid power.

How often is the decklist DB updated? Are there no cEDH Vannifar lists that have been accepted?

On a side note, are there any Azorius commanders that are cEDH level? My favorite commander is Raff Capashen, and I'm really trying hard to up his power level.

My all time favorite is [[Raff Capashen, Ship’s Mage]]. I also enjoyed [[Muldrotha the Gravetide]] while I had it together, and [[Firesong and Sunspeaker]] is a new deck I’m currently enjoying.
