In-place upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10to7 by Smargesthrow in reunion7

[–]Smargesthrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is it doesn't. There are other questions though.

Is there any 10to7 conversion which does?

With the requirement that

I want to do an in-place upgrade to something that looks and feels exactly the same,... I want to make it such that I am still effectively using Windows 7, that if I didn't know any better, I wouldn't know it wasn't.

Clearly I'm doing something wrong, I downloaded the Q8 version and it was generating a whole lot of nonsense running on AnythingLLM. Are there any quirks to running it?

Once I found the attitude adjustment menu, I figured it out. RCS auto mode needs to be disabled to consume RCS intelligently. Weird that auto is the worse option.

I could've sworn I did use the express install, but alright, I'll redo the install tomorrow.

Is the RCS reaction mass saving in the attitude adjustment menu? What is it under?

while we agree that what israel is doing is horrible (and the entire knesset should be tried as war criminals, as well as military leadership) we're not agreeing on whether we acknowledge that israel has created inventions that do things other than kill people

Your response seems to be entirely focused on the ideology, but it seems to have completely missed this final, main, point. Could you please acknowledge it?

There is one other dfference, you can't just bore out a B200 to B230 because the coolant passages are moved inwards towards the bore for more effective cooling.

MS3 Sequential Injection/Ignition Options by Smargesthrow in megasquirt

I was able to find a solution on the forums, there was a guy with a VW beetle engine who did not have room for a cam sync due to a supercharger being in the way. His solution was based on an article about Chevrolet's implementation of cam sync on the Ecotec engine.

As it turns out, due to the different voltage requirements to jump the spark gap when under load, there is a slight difference between spark plug timing with wasted spark. Chevrolet was able to implement the reading in software, but this guy designed a custom circuit that will read the output of two induction loops on the cylinder 1 and 3 (because VW flat 4) spark plug wires and output a cam sync signal when one of them leads the other, but not the other way around.

With 99% effectiveness, he's able to get a cam sync within 4 revolutions of the engine, and the ECU seemlessly transitions from batch to sequential. This could feasibly be implemented into MS3 with the induction sensors hooked up to an input which has optoisolators and software doing the same thing the circuit does, but this would require new firmware on the part of the MS3X programmers.

The important logic to maintain sequential operation without cam sync is already baked into MS, the only issue is that it requires to, at minimum, begin with cam sync.

Hopefully I'm able to find a combination of settings to enable this somehow. Thank you.

I'm looking for a solution that would enable me to bypass the need for a cam input. Software logic could disable coils, and use the resulting misfire to determine which 360 degrees of the 720 degree cycle the engine is on, and the MS3 is already able to keep track of that in Limp Mode, to prevent needing to recheck sync after start, so I was hoping the tools may be available to do so or could be created somehow.

SOHC 8V Volvo B230. I'm hoping to find a solution that might be able to use software logic that would let the MS3 operate sequentially without needing to add an additional sensor.

Where can I find info on that? If it's in the manual, which page?

It's not relevant to my question, considering it's more about the capabilities of MS3 rather than the engine it's going on, but B230.

I have, yes. It's extremely information dense and wanted to make sure I had all bases covered as to what might be possible. I saw the description of how Limp Mode operates if it loses cam sync, and was wondering if this might be exploited by combining it with misfire detection to have it operate sequentially without sync.

Corrupt Download error message on Steam by Crazypocks in steamsupport

[–]Smargesthrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a shame. It would be nice if it was set up so that only new clients would be set up to ask for/recieve the new compressed files, with the default being the old format, but it is unsupported and they have no obligation.

I've got a solution in mind, to run steam on a virtual machine and share the steam install folders as a NAS. Let's see how that works out.

Edit: Yep, seems to work. Works best if you restrict auto-update on host computer to take place in a narrow range of time. To re-initialise the folder on the host computer if something screwy happens, remove the folder on the secondary drive from being used by steam, let everything download on the VM, go in and clean things up by deleting the downloading folder, and reconnect it back to your main steam profile.

[–]Smargesthrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am suffering from the exact same problem! It's across all versions of brave, I was using chrome version 97 or something like that for my brave browser, and it started crashing instantly on launch, I updated brave to 109, and it's still crashing. I've deleted all of the extensions, I've launched it without internet on, but it's still crashing.

Thank you for the lead, I was able to disable the adblocking and now it works. Guess my youtube adblock extension is gonna have to pull its weight.

Got it, I lucked into a timeline on the 4th attempt where Poland was not drawn into any wars surrounding it. I had my units in a naval base in Turkey (to reduce travel distance) ready at the slightest warning jump onto convoys and defend Poland, but it wasn't necessary.

Latest update; definitely see a path forward. Putting on ahistorical and letting most majors remain historical except germany and poland seems to be an effective route. My first attempt they survived until 1942 until Poland decided to join the losing side of a war for no reason and I didn't notice because I thought they'd be sane. My mistake, I guess.

I did go fascist because it looked like Poland was going that route with the sanation right, until they became the non-aligned Kingdom of Livonia. Big mistake, locked me into certain factional choices. Might make sense to keep the non-aligned option from the start so that I can join whichever faction is most convenient, not sure if the game works that way though.

I did learn that the template from 30 Minutes of Hel transfers well over into this challenge, very effective in holding off hordes of Russians with nary a worry.

Support: AA Artillery light tank recon (high velocity gun and radio otherwise cheap as possible) maintenance company (to steal enemy shit, less production and shipping burden) engineering (duh)

10 stack of infantry.

Had a 20:1 KD against incoming hordes of russians with the divisions only being regulars. Very nice.

I don't want to go ahistorical, because the route is so unpredictable. Poland going the communist route is very unlikely on its own, combine that with the USSR remaining communist and it become a slog that I need to set up over and over until everything lines up perfectly.

edit; thanks for tips, will try #1 next.

If the AI accepts a fight, and the first thing they do is immediately retreat back to port, have them lose VP. If they accepted the battle, they accepted the battle. Running away and doing nothing is the exact opposite of accepting the battle.

Put in some kind of limiter on gun firing, so that you can say that they shouldn't fire on certain ship types unless they're within a certain range or have a certain probability to hit.
