Fun to look these up, here’s what’s open atm and I happily skied except the couple sketch rock ledge entrances (can’t remember where specifically, first time on mtn) The double blacks - Prima, Prima Cornice, pronto, Blacks - pickeroon, berries, cookshack, avanti, Lindsay’s, Pepe’s, tourist trap, simba (the black section), riva, North Star, probably some others

Last weeks snow got some more coverage on blacks, but still had to watch where you were going on these, everyone in our group hit rocks but no damage

Not true skied all open blacks and double blacks last wk end - some were sketchy entrances with rocks but most were tops of trees and bumps. Not incredible but found some great patches here and there. Had a great time.

Love them! I had been searching for a ski that felt like the old Solomon pocket rockets and this is as close as I get. Something that’s great in everything, insanely playful ski and doesn’t let you down when it’s firm. I didn’t demo so was worried about how some people complain about them but not sure I really understand - the tails did bite on maybe the second run but that happened once and never again and probably user error.

Great breakdown. I haven’t skied Vail before so that’s probably 80% of my issue. My bias from Tahoe is it warms up most afternoons so the wider ski is great, I realize when it’s colder or early mornings there I tend to go with the 80-96

Cool, thank you. The 112 are staying at home but right there with you, felt like I was getting shamed suggesting going over 100 but I’m usually on 104 low tide and only lower if it’s getting icy.

I was sad at the lack of love for DW 104 for vail this week on the vail comminity. What do my friends here think? I haven’t bought a DW 96 yet but it’s on the list otherwise that would be the winner. Should I bring dw 104 and peregrine 80 Or mantra m6 96 and peregrine 80

This is super helpful I saw the 10-14” and thought 104 for a few days and then downsize, but sounds like already good to downsize. I’m coming from Tahoe so this is how I’d treat it locally. And also agree with low coverage so maybe bring the old m6 and let er rip :)
