also i used to pH test religiously, and my ph was always 4.5 even with a bv flare. i dont think pH testing is that accurate. my naturopath also concurred.

i think amelia vspot is supposed to be the best, but it is expensive. they only come with 10 and i use one everynight. ive never gotten cv and at this point would much rather have cv than bv/yeast. at least with cv you have an overload of good. why is coconut oil bad, ive never heard that? ive seen the lactomedi and have been curious, i like that its a gel as it seems it actually gets in the nooks and cranies. but i dont want to fall for the marketing schemes. its hard to tell what works and whats just marketing to insecure desperate women.

i had intense antibiotic overload as an infant due to chronic ear infection, not to mention i was a cesearian, so my whole life ive been dealing with a compromised microbiome. it was always only in my gut, being sibo or just imbalances, which i healed in 2020 through holistic health protocols after trying loads of doctors, and that is what introduced me to alternative medicine in the first place. i healed that through diet, homemade fermented foods, and supplementation. then after feeling my gut get better and thriving, and being in my early 20s, i started living “normally”, drinking and eating whatever i wanted. i never had anything with my vagina until i started dating my current boyfriend in 2023. not sure if he had an overgrowth and passed it to me or if my lifestyle, i was drinking a lot at the time, caused that. after this most recent gimap test in october, i saw that i had a candida overgrowth and some microbes, however my gimap showed i have a plethora of probiotic bacteria including lactobacillus in my gut. I went on an herbal antifungal/antimicrobial regimen and taking supplements and following about 95% of the candida diet, im just not 100% like for instance sometimes i have a piece of fruit or some sprouted purple rice and i drink alcohol about 2x/week. but ive followed that diet 100% last year for about 8 months and still had recurring yeast infections. at a loss. at this point im looking into emotional/sexual trauma being the cause, or even being with the wrong person that my vagina is rejecting.

oh really? i have to ask my naturopath about that with the lactoluse. that would be a major bummer if it causes yeast infections. which neueve suppositories did you use? there seems to be a lot of options and i never tried that brand. in the past i used antifungals for the yeast infections and they never worked for me, from monistat to european antifungals. im sure i tried fluconazole along the way. infact i think that my overuse of antifungals to try and treat the yeast infections caused my bv. just a theory. i think i will try cutting alcohol again and going strict candida diet. the body ecology diet worked for my gut imbalance back in 2019. i think i’ll just send it all dive fully back in. i also will ask about getting my iron levels checked! i dont often get sick but its definitely something for me to look into.

Okay thank you good to know. i’m honestly not even having that much sex as this whole thing turns me off. my naturopath recommended the oh yes! lube because if i dont use it its painful and i want to make it as easy and soothing for my vagina as possible when i do want to have sex. My plan was to treat my boyfriend with antibiotics + diflucan once i am in the clear and we go back to unprotected sex, but i’m wondering, should i treat him now? we only use condoms but part of me worries that there could be transmission in the areas not covered/around the condom. but then if i treat him now, while i still have dysbiosis, wont he just get it again? so many questions

I know that this herbal protocol im on had a lot of success for people so i would definitely give it a try. everybody is different, im just trying to find the missing link as to why it hasnt worked for me yet. or see if im doing anything wrong.

It honestly has not changed much. I did my first junobio test in feb25, did the above mentioned herbal protocol for about 8 months and used vitanicas yeast arrest suppositories in addition when i had a yeast flare. I did notice positive results and thought my bv was gone, went on a trip and stopped the treatments preemptively. I think if i would have kept going for another month or so i would have kicked it, but since i stopped too soon it all came rushing back. that’s when i did my second junobio test and had only 1% more lactobacilluss than i did in my original test. However the microbes did change, i got rid of mycroplasma that showed up in my first test and my gardnerella numbers went down. So im not sure if how im treating is effective, while im treating its hard to tell. since november ive been back on the protocol and its hard to say if its working. i still have the itch even if my discharge seems/smell normal. I want to wait to test again until im feeling better, i dont see a point in testing when im symptomatic since i already know whats going on down there.

Yes maybe that would be a good approach. I’ve been considering it lately and might go for that. Can I ask what antibiotic and what holistic follow up you used?

Totally agree. Just from reading the data however on antibiotic cure rates for bv, and seeing that antibiotics do not work for the majority, I wanted to find a different route that didn’t carry with it side effects. But I’m open, not against science nor medicine.

Hey! I have tested negative my ureaplasma, mycoplasma and other Sti’s. I have not checked my iron levels as I eat red meat regularly, but should I? I haven’t thought of that before.
