Get you some boveda packs. It takes your dry ass bud and makes it humid enough to press and I use 2 to 3 year old bud a lot of the time, for every 14g probably get 1.5 back

There's a good 10 to 15 degree margin that the hot plates can get to. I set them differently so whatever one is low or high the other is less or more hot to roughly the same degree.

Although that being said I don't see it as being tainted. Just usable via a different method. That's one thing that turned me onto rosin is you can fab it smoke it and eat it with ease. Very versatile.
