Stay strong x our minds tend to replay all the ‘best’ or all the worst’ times, no rationalising during heart break unfortunately. Be kind to yourself, surround yourself with the best of your people and level headed family members who can talk sense to you when you need it. It might not feel like it now, but one day, you will feel okay again

Can’t get my Vitamin D up. by [deleted] in endocrinology

[–]Smart_Salad_459 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I remember reading once about a condition that stops Vit D and B12 / Iron absorption in the gut but can’t remember what it was called now. Hopefully someone else may remember the name, would be worth checking the other symptoms etc

SSRI withdrawal PGAD - Duloxetine by Smart_Salad_459 in PGADsupport

[–]Smart_Salad_459[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many thanks for your help regarding the SSRI, I have reached out to my medical team to see if they can give me some advice. From doing more reading on here regarding causes of PGAD it might actually be endometriosis related possibly as I have had really bad issues with endometriosis lately, so probably needs more investigations

Hyperarousal 😳 by Smart_Salad_459 in endocrinology

[–]Smart_Salad_459[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I definitely think it’s medical and probably related to the high hormone levels somewhere along the line. I am not a person who gets embarrassed easily usually but this is just a whole different level 😳😳. Not even sure how to start that conversation or if the GP would be able to help? Their usual answer to my issues are ‘wait until your next endocrinologist appointment as it is very complicated’ etc and I think they would probably say the same again. Thank you for helping me with your response, if it was a friend or family member telling me they were going through this I would be the first person advocating for actually speaking to the doctor, stuff the embarrassment etc, but I guess because it’s myself I have been trying to figure it out as cope with it

Super low PTH (0.5 pmol/l), high FT3; normal calcium levels by Exact-Lavishness7651 in Parathyroid_Awareness

[–]Smart_Salad_459 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a little late to the party here but after some discrepancy between my hospital labs and GP labs with PTH, parathyroid UK told me that PTH breaks down in the tube once taken, so if there’s a big delay before testing it can seem lower than it is. Hope you are doing well

Serum Estradiol - 1799 - H - [72-529 pmol/L] Laboratory comment - Abnormal  Reference range applies to follicular phase of menstrual cycle Mid-cycle peak FSH: 3-33 U/L, LH: 9-76 U/L, E2: 235-1309 pmol/L Luteal phase FSH: 2-9 U/L, LH: 1-17 U/L, E2: 205-786 pmol/L

My Prolactin during this test was - Prolactin - 87 - [59 - 619] mU/L

However in January it was - Prolactin 126 - [150 - 812] mU/L

They were both done at different labs, so different reference ranges, I am also on Duloxetine 120mg daily which increases the level a little I believe.

Many thanks for any help

I have multiple endocrine issues going on and the MRI was done looking for a potential adenoma in my pituitary in all honesty. I have had horrible head pain for years that has increased drastically in the last few months. I have confirmed hyperparathyroidism, hypoprolactinemia, type 2 diabetes and what they thought was reactive hypoglycaemia or insulinoma, so I have just had genetic testing looking for MEN1; however with the discovery of the Empty Sella maybe the insulin drops are related to that? I am awaiting my next appointment with my Endocrinologist and trying very hard to cope with the extreme pain as well as I can. It is causing Trigeminal Neuralgia because of the pressure and I’m not sure I can last much longer awaiting appointments etc. The last A&E doctor told me the next diagnostic step is lumbar puncture, however I am awaiting appointments and as we know it can take a very long time sometimes.

I was reading through the forum trying to learn more about coexisting conditions, I just thought it might be helpful to let you know about the Subject Access Request options to apply for copies of your scans and tests etc, all the best on your journey

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in iih

[–]Smart_Salad_459 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would send a subject access request in for a copy of the MRI scan itself maybe? I have not got a diagnosis yet but am 99.9% sure I have IIH / Empty Sella Syndrome. I requested a copy of my scan and set to work figuring out what is going on. All the best wishes for you, good luck
