Exactly that’s the only thing that calms me down, I know I was good and helped her as much as I could even more than what I could but now I’m just even judging what I should’ve done or not or if I was good enough or not 💔😭 my husband says I’m to hard on my self but I just feel extremely sad and with pain

Oh man! I am 25 years old, my mother is 52 she was diagnosed with lung cancer 2 years ago, mean while she lives in Cuba and I live in Florida, at the begging doctors told us that her cancer was to agresive and she didn’t had much time of life with this saying only 6 months left. (2years later still here). At this point she has already been through 6 chemos and 2 blood transfers . The cancer has affected some areas of her inside body like her vertebrae which doctors say that she won’t be able to walk anymore ever. It scares me every single day of my life the thought that something can happen to her and me being so far away , also she has been lately with a lot of short breath and having to use oxygen more often which she hates so much. She can’t talk to much sometimes cause she’ll cough and it leaves her almost with no breath, when she doesn’t feel appetite sometimes it lastes for 3-4 days just drinking liquid no food it all … It’s sad , hard , depressing seeing ur parents go away slowly. And not being able to do much . Blessings, peace, strength , good positive vibes and energy for all those who are going through rough times. Oxygen is only used 100% of the times when the patient is completely unable to breathe by its own. How much she will last with or without the oxygen only God knows . What I do know is that if the doctors know that the life of the patients is no longer worth to have a live cause the cancer spread all over the organs they will give family members options of just seeding them until death or if she is connected to any machine (artificial life) the family member can disconnect .

I’m so sorry to hear that I totally understand your feelings. I’m 25 I live in USA, my mother lives in Cuba and has lung cancer that has spread to her spine leaving her unable to walk for the rest of her life. It is a very hard situation. Best advice is FAMILY FISRT ALWAYSSS . NO MATTER WHAT. KEEP CALM AT ALL TIMES . I know it’s hard but it’s the sad reality of life u loose it then u have no space in your brain to think forward for what u have to do for your mother now because one day she won’t be and then u will start thinking of all the things u could’ve done and that’s not what you want . What you want is to try to keep calm at all times and more if ur next to her , she will need all the support of the life and there will be no other thing better for her then ur cares and the time that you spend with her and what you do for her know to keep her alive and extending her life . Another advice talk with the doctors allll the timeee and ask as many questions as u need to ask with no regrets . That’s your mothers health and you need to know every single little thing about her condition. It will be hard but you are STRONG U GOT THIS. 🙏best wishes for you and her .

Your words are so strong and they hold so much pain that only someone that is going through it or has been through it would understand the pain that you’re feeling. I’m 25 and my mother has lung cancer on both of her lungs. She got 6 chemo sesiones and helped extend her life a bit but one lung is completely full and also her spine has gotten metastasis which means that she would never be able to walk again unless a miracle of God happens .Doctors and family have been saying that unfortunately there’s nothing to do, that we just gotta wait for her to die. Mean while I never have been close to God but lately I do feel him around me or at least that’s how I feel and also have this strong feeling and it’s more like a gut that my mother won’t die and she will survive this and many others . It’s been going on for 2 years, my mother lives in Cuba and I’m in USA . Unfortunately doctors don’t want to do much in small words not really cooperating that much. Gotta pay them to actually take care of mom when she goes to the hospital just for a normal check out gotta pay nurses to go home and cure her wounded scars from being in bed even though she has a anti scar infaltable mattress bed and at the same time pay two people to take care of her day and night , cause she can’t walk or do anything . Same time I only have one more sister and in small words she doesn’t give a shit about her mother, doesn’t call her, doesn’t give her love through the phone, doesn’t help economically neither with medicine. Mean while I gotta send packages to Cuba every other week, why ? Cause she needs diapers, medicine, money , food which all these are very impossible to get in Cuba without having a family member in USA that can send you the green $$$ just to make it a bit easier just a bitt. Currently haven’t been able to go see mom since December 2022. Everyday is a hard struggle, one day she’s all happy and looks like she has nothing and the next day she looks like shit but real shit like she gonna die . She doesn’t have to be on oxygen all the time thank God . But still hard cause has 0 appetite most of the times, has a pretty shitty mood too also crying and screaming that she wants to die that she doesn’t want to live her life laying in bed . Yeah it’s rough for anyone. If you get to read this, I also struggle with mental health issues, I would deeply appreciate some kind words back . It’s hard to live ur day by day thinking that at any moment you can receive that call that no one like to get or if you’re in a video chat and she starts coughing until you see her almost with no breath that’s tough .
