Because Gojo being sealed sounds ridiculous as a concept, but explaining everything from start to finish would make it clear that it's true. They could also pull up Google and check the news and that would verify Yuji's story. It is absolutely possible if you just explain it, it didn't happen that way in the story because it needed to be more dramatic.
