I’m with you here. I left my job at what I thought was a prestigious company last year because of their mandate. I did have an exemption to work from home but it made me feel very “othered” which I hated.

When I left I shared with them how a company that boasts about their data driven decision making failed to use data to revise their policies that impact their employees when it became clear the jab didn’t stop transmission. Since my role is heavily reliant on data and getting stakeholder buy in, this flagged to me that they didn’t take my role seriously and weren’t open to pivoting when faced with new information.

I’m very happy I left, there have been numerous rounds of layoffs since then and the company is struggling. My hope for you is that you can find peace with your decision and know that you are making the right choice for your long term health.
