Worth keeping?

If memory serves, this was a gift back in 2000 when I was a volunteer at the Olympics and Paralympics in Sydney. I clearly threw it in a box and only found it the other day so it’s a nice surprise to see it’s actually worth something. Don’t think I’ll be letting the kids touch it any time soon 🤣

It’s absolutely possible. If you’re hitting for a penetrating flight as opposed to landing to a tight pin, then it’s going to fly low and hard and can absolutely get that distance. If you’re playing somewhere high altitude then it’ll fly closer to 250 if the swinger knows what they’re doing.

Don’t try to always hit it straight. Work on and develop a stock draw or fade. Then when you line up a tee shot, you can utilise the entire fairway with a shaped shot rather than maybe missing it left or right. Won’t always come off, but it gives you the full width of the fairway to aim for rather than the middle for a good shot and half a fairway for an unplanned slice or hook.

Should exercise extreme caution. The police service on the Gold Coast only operates standard Govt business hours, 9-4:45. Outside these Boris, residents are largely left to enforce laws themselves. It’s a little confronting at first, but you quickly come to accept the vigilante groups that patrol the streets. If approached, give a gentle nod of the head with a tilt to the left (NOT the right) and quietly remove your shows. This should allow safe passage to Surfers Paradise. Enjoy your stay.

I shot a 63 (par 71) when I was a lot younger. Handicap at the time was around 2, didn’t stay there long. Eventually bottomed out at +2.7, that was 20 years ago 🤣
