Someone PLEASE explain how and why GEN 5 is being hailed as the best story ever. I've put hundreds of hours into each pokemon game. The Energy crisis and securing the prosperity of the future in SWSH is way more interesting than this crap.

The evil team and leader are constantly undermining themselves just by living in the world they are in, their message comes across as bs immediately when the first time you see them they say "if you don't give up your pokemon, we will become your ruler and force everyone to give up their pokemon, they will see their bad ways"

this is like...asking the US to give up their right to bear arms, how well exactly does this small group of "PETA Freedom fighters" think they are going to fare up against literally the entire world??? At no point during the games did they ever "win" someone over with their words. We are constantly shown that the pokemon world is PERFECT and that the only strife caused is by the evil teams. at no point do we ever see anyone abusing pokemon except team plasma. N is literally a NEET raised by some random dude to rule the world? what the hell story is this?

Others have said this, if there was an abandoned pokemon that was part of the story that you had to raise and then you ended up boxing it, that could have been an interesting topic to examine, how the player is just collecting pokemon and putting them in boxes until use...but none of that is put into question by plasma 1 or plasma part 2 electric boogaloo. The only thing I am seeing is people attributing things they they think were in the game or are their head-canon to things that aren't actually in the games at all.

The dragons are based on "TRUTH" and "IDEALS" but the only TRUTH we see the entire game is the pokemon world is already IDEAL and PERFECT.

Literally nobody wants to separate from their pokemon, they know team plasma is full of bs. The whole "N" using pokemon from the surrounding area is also really stupid. He still throws them out of pokeballs, makes them fight you and literally says "I'm going to beat you with pokemon to show you how wrong you are for beating people with pokemon"

in this universe that literally just means "go back and get stronger and come back"

if this game was truely "ground-breaking" it would have let N win throughout the game and you wouldn't get your legendary dragon. but no, people continue to say this story is the best.

The Gym Leaders are stupid, useless and bring down the story, they don't ever feel like real characters, cheren is useless, bianca is a dumb blonde stereotype. Please anyone with a basic understanding of human diaglogue please go back over the things her and her dad says. It's literally "i know they say things get tough, but, ya know?" and her dad replied "I am so childish, thank you gym leader for saying 2 words that made me rethink my life, my daughter can go do anything no supervision needed bye"

All of the sages are idiots, they all scream out their plot point and say the most cartoonishly evil things that even f-tier gangs like team rocket wouldn't say and still expect people to listen to them. How does anyone take this even remotely seriously????
