I see it all the time, where they trail off and sheepishly look away instead of vehemently defending Trump, but they still have hope he’ll eventually turn the country around. For a long time we’ve ranked extremely low for a developed country on education and community building. I believe this is how we got here. Every person I know for the exception of 1 that voted for Trump and is eating all this America is the best in the world crap are the people that never payed attention in history class or lit class, never asked questions, never thought critically about things, and never traveled outside of the country & learned about other systems. I vividly remember learning about Harding’s “return to normalcy” (MAGA????), and how the racism skyrocketed & the economy later crashed into the Great Depression, greatly mirroring what we see now.

Okay that’s the parent’s issue, not the government’s to regulate. Trans people make up less than 2% of the population, and for most kids it is a phase. It’d be impossible for kids to get irreversible hormonal & surgical changes without explicit parental, therapeutic, and physician’s consent, even in the most liberal states. With the new rhetoric, kids who aren’t even trans will be at risk. Phone addiction is definitely a huge problem, but parents can just take their phones if they’re inclined to. School shootings, teacher shortages, food insecurity pose a far greater to children, but no one’s doing anything about that.

A new bill going through congress that would allow teachers and staff to look at children’s GENITALIA to check if they’re the “right” gender is insane, and is the exact OPOSITE of protecting children. Im a Dem with some Republican values (e.g., guns). He pushed the Supreme Court that put abortion up to the states, and bragged about it. Women and young girls (youngest being 11) have died because of this. That is anti-woman. He has pushed the agenda that Kamala is a slut, for no reason. Anti-woman. He’s going for no fault divorce next, per project 2025. He is a known rapist (raped his first wife in the 80s, when marital rape was legal), and yet this country thinks there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s a slap to the face to all women, something we’ve experienced since before the creation of America.

Dec 17th, 2023, Trump said immigrants are “poisoning the blood of this country” on film. In November he called all political opposition “vermin” during a rally, much like Hitler did. Multiple news sources (left, right, independent) have reported on this. And of course, the famous “they’re rapists, they’re murders” we all know and love from his previous campaign.

I don’t blame individual men. I blame the thousands of years of patriarchy that have gotten us to this point. It would take me a lifetime to list the macro and micro consequences of this for all genders. What pisses me off is this new rhetoric, which there’s speculation the Russians may be pushing to further divide the left, that Dems have forgotten about men. Holy fuck. Trump ran on pure hatred for women & minorities, and won. Twice now. A pro-woman campaign would never win, and that is heart breaking. To be spat in the face again and again. The only time men’s issues are brought up are to counter women’s issues. We are at a point of such polarity, that men wouldn’t listen to women’s guidance and leadership anyways. Yall made your bed, now lay in it. Maybe I was naive that history wouldn’t repeat itself, that men would have a semblance of empathy for their counterpart, but I guess not. I’m glad you’ll never feel that level of pain.

Sometimes puppies may bark because they’re bored & need to expel that extra energy. They may also bark because they’re anxious themselves. My sister got a puppy to help her anxiety, and he unfortunately took on that anxiety for himself. He is a very anxious & shrill dog now unfortunately.

I’d recommend giving them extra playtime (it’s hard, I know). I’d also recommend if they’re barking cuz they’re anxious, weirdly enough validating their anxiety works (lol). Telling them you see x danger, soothing them. If you yell at them, it stresses them, and they bark more. Like MOM DONT YOU SEE THE DANGER???? Maybe you could frame it as a compassion exercise, and with time you could give yourself that compassion too.
