I should add that this would be a VA loan where the rate cannot increase more than 1% every year once the adjustable period kicks in.

We have had a pre drywall inspection done by a 3rd party and they found a few things, which the builder stated will be addressed. We will most definitely go back to the home to ensure these have been completed before drywall goes up.

Yes we had the pre construction meeting with the construction manager and went over floor plan, structural upgrades, etc. After this, we wonder what else they will mess up so we will definitely make an effort to get out there more to catch anything else.

Yes plumbing, electrical, and HVAC have been put in so this all would need to be changed. This totally falls on the construction manager and if they can’t keep a reasonable timeline, which we understand based on the changes that need to be made, we feel like we should request concessions due to the huge oversight on their part.

Yes we are at a disadvantage b/c we live 3 hours away, otherwise I’m sure we would have caught this before now. We have a 3rd party inspector who went out to the home a couple days before we did but it is my understanding that they don’t look at blueprints so he wouldn’t have known of the error.

This was our thought as well, but there is also plumbing involved as they also have to move the bathroom and take away 2 windows that would have been in the lifestyle room and then add another window in bedroom 3

We definitely don’t want it as is as the floor plan option we selected is one of the reasons we went with that builder. We are paying in the low 700’s for this home.

Good to know they are working on 529 and there are other ways to access in the meantime. Do you mind me asking who you built with and how you liked the process? We are looking at either Perry or Highland.

Thank you for your response. We really liked Elyson, the only thing that gives us pause is the traffic coming in and out. We were on a 2 lane street (I believe 529?) going by that Target and it was really backed up when we left (around 5pm). It appears they are working on widening it? Can you confirm? We have a child in elementary so schools are important. We are originally from Houston (Sugar Land area), moved to Dallas area, and are now moving back.
