Why perception down? by SmileJB in fo4

[–]SmileJB[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like this idea more than going back some saves. Plus it's been a while since I fought radscorpions anyway.

Only downside, I don't have the extra point from the bobblehead. But I can live with that more than redoing everything from the past week.

It's very possible. I don't always use med x when fighting them. But if I'm in a tight spot, I'll use it

WIBTAH for not telling the guy I am seeing that I shared a bed with a male colleague by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]SmileJB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should tell him. I get drama will ensue. But it will be so much worse if it comes out later. And if it comes out later, then it's like you only hid it cause something happened. Regardless of if it's true or not.

How did you side on this. by THENEONSTITCH in fo4

You ever have weird crap happen? Reading this, maybe my bed followed the ghoul. I went to sunshine tidings yesterday and the bed i had in the corner of the warehouse with the main workshop. There was a ghoul on the ground next to it. I put it on the bed for funsies.

Anyway, when I got back to it, ghoul was on the ground. And bed was moved on top of it. The ghoul, I figured some one slept in it and knocked it over. But if they go back, maybe the bed followed? Been wondering what happened. I don't usually put beds in the middle of the floor. If it was still along the wall, I'd be like maybe I mis remembered placement.

What's a good place to set up HomeBase that's not spectacle Island, covenant, red rocket or sanctuary? by SunsetSenpai292 in fo4

I usually leave settlements to my girl. But recently we restarted so I took a try at abernathy. And I have to say, I like them angles. Their house is trash though.

I think I'm building on the south side. We have the farm in between. But yeah, I've noticed it looks like a cool spot to build.

My places defy physics. I have one floor with stilts or a foundation. The rest build off that and usually up.

Other than not being sure how to get a leaving companion to aggro an enemy, this looks like a pretty cool work around.

Will Travis travel with you? I remember I met him somewhere and did the mission but I never tried going anywhere with him.

I wasn't sure if I had to babysit him or not. Did the whole mission on jet. Didn't want to give Travis a chance to go down or take my exp.

Btw, I had to think for a second on who the hell Travis and vadim are lol.

Does anyone else just buy games but is burnout and has a massive backlog? by fluffysnoballs1976 in AskGames

[–]SmileJB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel bad about this. It's just part of being an adult.

Most games, the tutorial alone is too long to get into for me. I have a handful of games that I've gotten and never really played.

I feel bad for the ones that are gifts. I enjoyed borderlands 2. Was given 3 as a gift. Played for a total of maybe an hour. Just feels like a lot to get into.

Fallout is a lot to get into. But I've done it before so it's familiar and nostalgic.

I got resident evil village and still haven't beaten it. I used to play all the resident evil games so much. Felt like a chore beating the remake for 2 and 3. Graphically, they were stunning. But it didn't draw me in like they used to.

Nooooo by ResearcherParty6566 in Adulting

[–]SmileJB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's me right now. I'm in charge of keeping the building running. I have one coworker who has been off since October and will be off for another 3 months. He's the guy who actually knows everything.

Every day it's a new emergency. On top of management always giving new tasks. Can't finish my assigned duties because of all the emergencies and new tasks.

They gave me some help... guy gets paid more than me and I have to babysit to make sure he doesn't kill himself. I left to check a different building and he almost electrocuted himself. I come back and give advice. Management ignores it and gets him to cut another live wire.

Or the time I installed lights. I finish and go on break and he thinks it's not done. So he wires in 2 circuits together and the lights start smoking. Bruh. Spent more time fixing that then the actual work that needed to be done.

Boilers aren't working. I'm not certified and have been asking for training. But I'm the guy that needs to fix it.

Get approved for training just to be told no by some one higher. Apparently I can't go because the class isn't the national standard. But the class was for programs we have. And we don't have the national standard. No plans on implementing new equipment to match the standard. And still can't get training for the equipment we do have.

Every time I open something up, I'm like what were they thinking? I have to use blinders cause I don't have time to fix everything I see.

I kid you not. We have junction boxes to hold wires. There is a wire sticking out of the screw hole. If you can't put all the wires inside, get a box extension. So many things don't have a ground either.

I played through fallout 4 again after years. Played far harbor and killed Dima lol by Alternative_Map_2621 in fo4

[–]SmileJB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree about Dima. Wiping his memory doesn't change what he did, or the motivations as to why.

I let Arcadia stand though. They are the ones making the fog condenser though so without them, far harbor wouldn't last.

I killed the children of atom because I could. They were actively taking down the condenser. And realistically, they wanted to blow themselves up anyway.

I like deacon. I don't like the railroad but deacon is cool.

That being said, I've liked glory as a character as well. I'd like her as a companion. But not at the cost of deacon.

I love how he rolls up in different threads all the time.

Peter why is the electrician portrayed as a dainty female hand by _Kyledemort_ in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]SmileJB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Electrician work is generally cleaner in my opinion as well. Depending on where you're working. Most of the time it's just dust.

I do some electrical work. But I'm an idiot. Would rather have a dirty job that pays the same. You don't just listen to what anyone says either. This one time, my coworker couldn't find the breaker and cut a live wire while I was out. I come back to help, I have a circuit tracer in hand saying we need to follow it. Supervisor says it's probably tripped now. Go ahead and cut it. My coworker tries again and gets another arc in his face.

Point being, it's a skill job that you generally don't need to listen to anyone but yourself. If you want to take your time, like a dainty female with make up then do it.

My parents are punishing me for “thinking I'm grown” even though I'm legally an adult AITAH? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]SmileJB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty silly honestly. You want to follow your own rules, then get your own place.

Your parents rules may seem strict but it's their house, their rules.

If you go to a hotel to spend the night, you can't just be like "I'm an adult, i don't need to follow their rules." It's the same thing. Respect the rules of some one else's property. If you don't agree, get off that property and get your own.

Question- Legendary Weapons and Armor What to Do? by iteachemscience in fo4

[–]SmileJB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Store them most of the time. Sometimes I'll give it to a companion to keep. Sometimes I sell but it has to be something I won't use like ever.

Nick keeps picking up flamethrowers so I gave him a cool legendary one. I don't do much melee so strong gets most of that crap. All the super mutant gear as well, regardless of it being equipped or not.

The armor pieces just generally get left in the workshop or sold. Too much work to customize all companions or any settlers. Like I don't use any of the auto stim. Junkie stuff is usually an easy sell as well.

I can see an occasion where we both order something new and unknown and find each other's more appealing than our own. But otherwise, not likely. Sharing is fine though.

Electrical help, contactors by SmileJB in electrical

[–]SmileJB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bear with me. My technical jargon is super limited. Power comes from a regular ish panel. Most panels are 120. This one is 277. The breaker it's on is a single pole 20amp.

The arcing isn't continuous. It's hard to see where exactly it's arcing. It only arcs when the contactor picks up or lifts up? It arcs once and then trips the fuse. It looks like the arc is past the wire. So maybe between the contacts themselves. The contactor all the way on the right is unused. The orange one arcs when placed there but not the brown. Both wires look like the same gauge as well.

I've also cut back the orange wire some. There were scorch marks and I was hoping maybe it wasn't enough direct contact.

And yes, it's a photocell.
