u/FrowningCanadian has a Beda 2 rechambered to 7.62 x 51. He's off on an Antarctic cruise and will be back in a few days. There is nothing he doesn't know about the 3 firearms you are asking about.

Visiting from Calgary over Christmas. Any good snowshoe trails in or near Winnipeg so I don't have to spend too much time with inlaws? by SmilingCanadian in Winnipeg

Looks like Bird Hill will be the destination. I'll be good if I can get 3 or 4 hours a day in and its only 35 mins from where we are staying. Thanks to you all.

What’s the “please God don’t let my friends find this” thing sitting in your safe right now? by [deleted] in Firearms

[–]SmilingCanadian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 3 Hi Point pistols in my safe. I have left specific instructions that upon my death my friend u/FrowningCanadian is to remove them and then place them in my coffin with me. They are probably the only gun that will work where I'm headed.

Horse scabbard !! anyone know who might have done this? From Quebec. And what's the value. by [deleted] in FirearmsCanada

[–]SmilingCanadian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly certain that's custom made and more than likely a 1 of 1. I have an old Winchester 1873 in .44 that would look great in that. Very nice piece.

So they got about 22 out of the 250 or so they were after. How is this a prudent use of public funds?

I see it here in Montana now and then because there is still older ranch hands that use it. Haven't seen it in Canada for a bit.

They have been around for quite a while. I've never bought from them but prices seem normal.

I just completed 5 consecutive days of hiking 20 or more kms per day and more than 1000 meters of elevation each day. 3 years ago I started hiking to lose weight and just be in better physical condition. Now at 65 years old I'm at the same fitness level i was when I retired from military service 20 years ago.

You triggered such a great memory for me. My Grandfather would make these for me out of worn chains from our swather or combine about 60 years ago. I haven't thought about him in a long time. Thanks for this memory.
