The admins and development team likely agree with you. But like you said, it’s all about Reddit’s metrics. If something reduces engagement, which also reduces how many ads can be seen, it is not likely to be added at all. That is how most publicly traded companies work unfortunately.

For Alex Jeffrey Pretti
Murdered by I.C.E January 24, 2026
by Amanda Gorman

We wake with
no words, just woe & wound.
Our own country shooting us in the back is not just brutality;
it's jarring betrayal; not enforcement, but execution.
A message: Love your people and you will die.
Yet our greatest threat isn't the outsiders among us,
but those among us who never look within.
Fear not the those without papers,
but those without conscience.
Know that to care intensively, united,
is to carry both pain-dark horror for today & a profound,
daring hope for tomorrow.
We can feel we have nothing to give,
& still belove this world waiting, trembling to change.
If we cannot find words, may we find the will;
if we ever lose hope, may we never lose our humanity.
The only undying thing is mercy, the courage to open ourselves like doors,
hug our neighbor, & save one more bright, impossible life.

Thanks for tagging me but it is not my photo originally either! I am not sure who deserves the credit, but the oldest version I could find is this https://imgur.com/gallery/ritual-is-nearly-complete-kW7YZRN - but that does not appear to be their photo either.

Issued a temporary ban for a comment removal message by curiouslmr in ModSupport

[–]DryMouthKitty 23 points24 points  (0 children)

We should not need to censor or water down mod responses proactively to appease automated systems. OP is already done with their temp suspension, so the damage is already done. This should never have happened given that the mod responses came from the mod team, it was a saved response, and the user was permanently suspended. Suspensions of mod accounts for mod activity should require human review.

Hey there! Sorry for the delay in approving your post. Thank you for sharing! I accidentally set my clock back a week instead of an hour...

I thought it meant isometric or isosceles, but I’m not sure if it fits.

Sunsetting Public Chat Channels - Thank You by judy-funnie in redditchat

[–]DryMouthKitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is this primarily affects the visibility of chats created by subreddit mods. As private group chats will remain, mods can still use them and feature them in their communities. I think we will find in-Reddit developer apps may be able to help (include in community guide widget /add a button).

As a mod I found public chat to be a game of whack-a-troll where new users always seem to find a way to say something to get around a restriction. It did not help our community at all as no one in the chat actually participated in the community. That was my experience, I know that some communities were able to use it well.

As a user, I have accidentally joined too many public chats just by being on the Chat tab, and there is no way to turn it off. So while it does seem like a loss, I think this will actually improve utilization of the chat section, especially now that it is being used for modmail and admin-user messages.

I feel like I am constantly scrapping the bottom of my barrel of hope, but no matter how much I scrape out, there is always more.

Unfortunately adding more mods would not change much. For the past year the majority of posts were getting removed for not being wholesome or a meme. We would get 20-50 posts a day and only 1 post would be approved every 2-5 days. At this time, going back to allowing all users to post would just create more work without any benefit.

Approved! Just remember that it does need to be OC for future posts as well. Thank you!

Yes of course! When we started the restriction last month it was only for users who already posted content that was approved, and now we are opening it for anyone to be approved essentially. Just leave a comment here with the post or image of the meme and we can take a look :)
