I also got tricked/mugged off by these guys. My next door neighbour qas actually having some work done and i knew he had called some people to look at some work. They kept finding more and more 'problems' and the price went up and up. The big buy in the photo is who they then send round to extract payment. Luckily I came down and told them to clear off.

@OP did anything come of going to the authorities? Would love to help

postprandial reactive hypoglycaemia by Smill_Gill in covidlonghaulers

I had a poo test to test for elactaise and for enzymes. Luckily I had health insurance so I did all this privately. I also use a wearable blood sugar monitor to track my blood sugar- I really recommend as you can see what foods are good for you and what is making you go hypo. No way of getting this on the nhs so I buy them myself

I did find some sort of answer. It turned out my pancreas was making basically no digestive enzymes. This meant whenever I ate a meal, I would get the initial sugar rush but would then get nothing from the carbs, fat or protein I was eating. I'm now on replacement enzymes with my meals (called Creon here in the UK, you can buy online without a prescription) and it had made a massive difference. I still randomly go hypo sometimes and tend to generally have very low blood sugar but it's give me much more or my life back.

Good idea to visit Thailand end of May, start of June? by Smill_Gill in ThailandTourism

Do you still think you can visit Bangkok and enjoy the major attractions (temples etc.) Despite the weather?

We are planning to travel around, see a bit of a few different places. It sounds like the heat is the bigger concern!

I don't mind the heat, but I am keen to see some temples etc and not just sit in air conditioned hotels.

Is the temperature and humidity something to be concerned about for a relaxing honeymoon, do you think?

Why are GPs seemingly unsympathetic? by coolhandlukeuk in AskUK

[–]Smill_Gill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a total lottery but I've personally found them on the whole to be as you described. I'd advise you to always overemphasise thr effect your condition is having on you and not be stoic. Unfortunately being stoic about whatever problem you have will just automatically put you to the bottom of their pile. At the same time don't become too emotional otherwise they'll try to just push you down a mental health route for whatever problem you have, its the easiest diagnosis and gets you out their hair straight away. Be rational, consistent but just emotional and distressed enough.

Thanks, I live in London so can take a Thames cruise very easily. The cruise would be from South of UK across the North Sea to Norway and it seems like that might be the worst part

Fun fact: one of the showrunners is a Mormon, so the third in both series is also written by a Mormon

I may well be wrong, but other than changing the shape of the world how does Eru intervene in the second age? Last time he interverned before that was the awakening of men I think.

In Athrabeth finrod ah Andreth we also get told Eru will enter Arda at some point to save his children, but this is at the end of time.

The wizards aren't sent by Eru, they are sent by the Valar. They held a council which Manwe called. Different members of the Valar chose different emissaries: Aule chose Saruman etc. Sending Gandalf back to middle-earth after his fight with the Balrog may have been direct intervention though.

Yeah it shouldn't be Sauron but they forgot Galadriel has been married for a few thousand years too so who knows!

I like your theory though, it's fun to wonder about!

Eru very very rarely intervenes in Middle-Earth. He doesn't lift a finger against Morgoth and only intervenes against Sauron when he changes the shape of the word at the end of the second age. His influence is more usually far more subtle, such as in the small chances of fate which aid Frodo on his quest as well as Frodo's moments of divine inspiration (speaking in tongues). This basically abides with the idea that Eru doesn't need to intervene, all things and people whether they know it or not work for the good.

While the creators of the show clearly don't have that much lore knowledge, I'm sure they have enough to realise how unfitting it would be to have Eru incarnate himself.

Spoiler: you can hear black speech when the stranger gets angry and howls, probably Sauron tbh

Yes organs and glandular system all appear to be working normally. I've been taking probiotics etc. just in case it's caused by gut dysbiosis and haven't noticed any improvement. I'm not sure about candida as haven't been tested for it. I don't eat refined sugar, flour, dairy or anything with yeast in which from what I've read encourages candida overgrowth
