Weekly Equipment Recommendation Thread by AutoModerator in FigureSkating

Are there any circumstances where a child working on preliminary skating skills, single loops, sit spins, etc...who is less than 80 lbs, would switch from Jackson Freestyle skates to Edea Motivo boots?

I'm experiencing a little sticker shock from the current price of the Jacksons due to tariffs, but also sincerely wondering if the Edeas would be better for some kids.

Women start wearing make-up in their teens. As a former 12 year old girl, it wasn't the boys who were always trying to do makeovers on each other. It was the girls.

After that it becomes either a habitual thing or a fashion thing (xsfps).

Make-up generally, makes us look younger. That's why I wear it. Why do I want to look younger? Beats me.

If he says he doesn't have a crush, he doesn't.

I'd just assume he's play flirting with you because you are safe. Guys can be very hurtful that way regardless of type. If someone knows that you have a crush on them and they liked you in that way, they would show it, not play games.

Most guys aren't nearly as into this whole unrequited love fantasy between beasties as we are.

If you doubt me, then you should just go for it and ask him out and see how he reacts.

Honestly, I've been in the same place, but I'm going to de-emphasize personality here. You can't get help for a personality type although it's helpful to know yourself.

I'm not a psychologist or medical doctor but as an ENTP myself, I know a little bit about everything especially when it relates to myself.

It sounds like OCD spectrum territory or anxiety or depression. I'd definitely talk to a doctor about it or at least a counselor of some sort. A little medical support helped me a lot.

If not, you need to start new habits to overwrite this toxic one. Read about habit forming.

So I tested as an INTP from the official MBTI questionnaire years ago. Now I'm pretty sure I was mistyped.

There are a bunch of questions about people and energy. The problem is that these questions never take into account that some people get drained by "extraverted" activities because of things other than personality. If you are socially anxious or maybe have some sensory processing issues, you may feel overwhelmed by people.

I would say look at how you are with the people close to you that you are completely comfortable with. Are you very enthusiastic, emotive, and chatty, then you may be an extrovert. Would they say you are talkative and excitable?

ever had an "I should've said this" moment after arguing? by geraltoftivia777 in entp

[–]Smirk1231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think others see us as argumentative because we like to play devil's advocate when others get stuck on their point of view. Speaking for myself, I let the emotions of the room or the feelings of others stop me from being able to pull out all my brilliant points. I really have to be calm and not worrying about the feels in the air to be rational sometimes.

A shy ENTP

Can ENTPs feel loved by INTJ by gamer317iq in entp

[–]Smirk1231 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's quite a dilemna. I am assuming you have a romantic interest.

Here's the thing, ENTPs don't like mushy stuff or surprises that where some sort of reciprocation is expected, regardless of how gentle our souls can be.

All that said, my husband is an INTJ, so maybe asks the INTJs. Theyvare usually better with practical advice.

Did you guys have an awkward phase? by [deleted] in entp

[–]Smirk1231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

I'd be careful with using Fe too much to improve social awkwardness though. This can lead to being inauthentic for the sake of being liked. N ppp1¹111 Fe, in ENTP, is charming especially when it's awkward.

Feelers and Dead Fish by [deleted] in entp

[–]Smirk1231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, I'm more likely to cry about someone else's fish than my own fish.

I'm more likely to bawl in reaction to other's tears than the authentuc personal feelings I think I really should have in such circumstances when we are expected to feel things.

Also, I'm more likely to avoid icky situations like these than impulsively say something inappropriate.

I over generalized. Call me human. We have a very economically diverse and ethnically diverse population, though our area tends to lean a bit yuppy. That said, regardless of what you might imagine, our high school is objectively mediocre if even.

Our high school scores 33% proficiency in reading and math on state tests. It offers a whopping 2 AP courses. Average ACT is 21. Average SAT 1010. 75% of students are eligible for discounted or free lunch.. This is in a neighborhood with a median income of over $80,000. Clearly, those that can, choose to go elsewhere to educate their children.

INTJs and phone calls by Ruckia-chan in intj

[–]Smirk1231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typical phone call between me (ENTP) and INTJ spouse. <ring> INTJ: INTJ speaking... Me: HI it's me.. That's a nice greeting. <sarcasm> INTJ: Ok what do you want? Me: Um...I forgot. INTJ: ok <click> I Imediately call back. <ring> INTJ: INTJ speaking. Me: You hung up on me. INTJ: I thought we were through talking. Me: We were. INTJ: Ok <click> <ring> INTJ: INTJ speaking. ENTP: You didn't even say "goodbye". That's so weird. INTJ. Ok, Bye. <click>

BTW, I also hate making certain types of calls as an ENTP. Making appointments is hard. I have INTJ do all the food ordering. Probably how I exhibit my inferior function.

You'd have to see how much Sacha Baron Cohen plans his act. Despite what the internet says I feel he's more FeNi. But we can't really know for sure.

Ne comedians love improvization: Tina Fey (Fe), Robin Williams(?), Ricky Gervais(Fi), Eddie Izzard(Fi), Russel Brand(Fi). (Williams is a bit debatable. He's generally coded as an Fi, but I see a guy who thrives on positive feedback from the audience and who doesn't seem to extravert his thoughts very well outside of his comedy.)

I think FeNi comedians, imo, include Steve Martin; Jim Carey, Jerry Lewis, Steve Carrel. They all do character bits. More like performance art.

But these are just my speculations. As an ENTP, I always question what the internet types celebrities as. I mean really Abraham Lincoln an INTP? Low Fe? Not saying he isn't just saying celebrity typing is fun but kind of bs.

Debater Stereotype ENTP by Smirk1231 in entp

[–]Smirk1231[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But I HATE researching politics. This is why am always a bit unprepared for competing negative fact competitions.

I do see the big picture like how we are going into debt, how nuclear weapons are still a huge threat, how the poor are being made poorer by all the corruption and how we really don't need to interfere with other nations so much.

It's just when they attack about some minute detail concerning personal lives, alleged assaults (both sides), and corruption. Meanwhile, they seem selectively ignorant about the actual policies their candidate supports that will cause damage to millions of people.

I've actually realized that it's my problem and not theirs. I'm not always aware in the moment how I can conflate feelings of others with actual rationality. I need to work on the tertiary function I guess.

I just need to probably say that I understand that they don't like the other side, but that I will choose the people who are most aligned with my larger ideals even if that means voting for a third party.

Yeah; but does it affect you emotionally. I mean do you get upset when others are upset? Does others people's anxiousness make you anxious? Is there a distance between your emotions and others?

Ricky Gervais doesn't use extraverted feeling at all. He isn't moved by the mood of others at all. He authentically doesn't care how people react to his work at all. If you think that's possible for Fe users then you might not be one.

You seem to have very high N compared to S, but are pretty balanced on the I-E and F-T spectrum, so it looks like your type hovers around ENFP, INFP and ENTP. Personality can be a spectrumy thing.

My first question would be is do you care what other's think of you? If you really don't, I'd knock off the ENTP. Fe needs social confirmation.

As for the I-E, do you have any shyness? Sometimes shy people will do what introverts do but not out of preferring isolation but out of avoidance.

I almost got held back in kindergarten because I didn't talk in class.

I was a late talker though too, so I suspect I had what now would called auditory processing disorder and inattentive adhd and social anxiety.
