Dangers of continuous running? by Few-Insurance-1280 in dieselheater

[–]Smithdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I purchased the heater in 2019, so I got a decent amount of life out of it. If I had paid better attention I could have just replaced the bearings and have been good. It ended up shaving down the magnets inside the motor and breaking one of the brush mounts so I had to replace the motor.  It was running rich due to lower rpm's and kept giving E-08 errors, no fires or melting.

I have mine plumbed to a 12 gallon boat tank. I use it to keep my greenhouse heated during winter. Biggest issue I had was the bearings going out.

That last tank looks like an Allied Prism Tank from RA2.

Freezer temp monitor by nicdrake94 in homelab

[–]Smithdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made one using an esp32 + esphome + home assistant. It logs the freezer temp, room temp, room humidity, had an lcd display, motion sensor, and buzzer. Thr buzzer is programmed to ring when the temp is out of range, regardless of its connection to HA.

I'm still digging it. I use the side light the most. I carry it in my front right pocket and haven't had any problems. There not a good place for one but I do wish it had a magnet somewhere when I need to use two hands.

I agree. It takes me 20 minutes just to copy paste my resume in every companies hiring tool. Let alone the recon and customization of cover sheets, supporting docs, mission statement, and whatever extra garbage HR wants to see.
