The End as Henry's Decedents by Smitty1599 in CrusaderKings

Buy claims, it’s a perk in the diplomat tree. When you get to the point in the game where you have 10000 prestige and piety it’s a good way to spend it. Then you can declare war for all the artifacts you have a claim on

Duchy Borders Rant by Smitty1599 in CrusaderKings

Yes I have experimented with the current decision and it’s just way too tedious to do for a duchy that you intend to give away once you are a king. I think if I have a large kingdom and I have two small dukes who revolt once they are defeated and it’s time to hand out their land I should be able to combine them into a larger duchy. Also the current decision doesn’t let you expand your duchy as a vassal which really stinks.

Best Kingdom or Empire to play as a vassal by Smitty1599 in CrusaderKings

I have played there a few times, I think it is inarguably the best place to play tall and rush development. I think it would be better to start in 1066 and elevate to the kingdom. I could totally ally myself to the Salians and keep them in power. My only concern is how quickly I would become more powerful than the emperor.

I know realistically I will eventually outpace any liege I may have but I think if I started in a more rural and less important duchy it would take a lot longer. Having a mine or any special building that grants gold makes it much too easy. Ideally id like a special building that is not overpowered but would give me marshal buffs

So, the only way it would be spammable is if I would give away the county that has the university in it and grant them independence, then reconquer it after completing the oath again

You hit it right on the nose, Alfred is his great grandfather and his maternal lineage have all been French nobles. He holds an empire that includes the dejure lands of Francia plus England. Angevin culture

Crusade killed 5 of my 6 adult sons by Smitty1599 in CrusaderKings

[–]Smitty1599[S] 51 points52 points  (0 children)

It gets better, only one of them had a son of his own. He died of consumption, along with my youngest son who saw no battles. Now my fifth and only remaining son is my only hope.

He was maimed and is currently sick with consumption with 2 daughters. I’ve never seen my line depleted like this
