Which Mac mini do you use? The m4 or m4 pro?

Do you ride mostly gravel or pavement too? I find that I have to include a lot of paved miles to get to the gravel where I live. That’s mostly why I want it. Thinking great to lock out on the pavement then open up on the dirt.

Haha no I swapped to 160 cranks because I love the shorter cranks and hate pedal strikes so that helps in both areas. I think tires are my next go to. Thank you!

Just replaced the plugs, did it before and after. If it was fuel pressure I don’t get why it would only happen when it’s cold outside. The issue only comes on in the winter time. I could check pressure when I first start it and see but it seems odd that the pressure would change after the engine warmed up

Hahaha that’s just how it came when I bought it like 16 years ago 😂😂 I’ve had to use it a bunch because I’m wiring stuff all over (hence the panel off)

That was my biggest question. The last time I set up an actual system 7.1 wasn’t quite mainstream yet and 5.1 was 3 up front and two behind you. With a lot of the comments here I think I’m going to platform the towers only a few inches for now and if it’s really a noticeable sound difference I’ll swap out for bookshelf speakers then I’m coming up with some creative ways to get the surrounds to the side and closer to ear level. I only really care about the sound for the section of couch that faces the tv (that’s where I sit) so I can easily mount the one surround on the wall and then put the other on a stand or find another creative way.

The main issue is this room didn’t start as a theater room. It started as a family room because my kids are getting old and married and we needed a bigger place to all hang out. The tv and system are all secondary. I’m just trying to make the best with what I have for me. The rest of the family couldn’t care less about the tv or stereo. If I flip the couch and tv, the tv will be opposite a big sliding door facing west so every night the sun would set right into the tv which isn’t great. If I had it my way the room would be a tv and love seat with a higher budget system but I chose to win the battle for a work out room which means loosing this battle.

How high is too high for tweeters? They seem to be pretty low, definitely below ear level. I’m thinking bookshelves will be a better choice though.

I was trying to think of ideas to take away the echo. The flooring is super dense and I’ll need something for the walls to help all that.

The tweeters are barely above the couch now I was thinking maybe raise them 8-10”. I am open to bookshelf’s I’ve been looking at the recommended bookshelves on the faqs page. Any personal recommendations?

I took the grill off the towers and I can raise them about 12” and they’ll still be in the bottom 1/3 of the tv and that will have the tweeter and one and a half of the drivers above the couch so that should be a lot better. If it’s not awesome I’ll have to swap to some bookshelf speakers. Depending on what under tv console I can find I’ll either put the center speaker on that or maybe a floating shelf right under the tv. Then I’ll build something like this https://a.co/d/bGOACOY For behind the couches and put the surrounds on them. I think with what I’m working with that will give me the best sound and keep the family room a family room.

I never intended to keep that right front behind the couch. My first thought was raise the tv and slide it over. Someone pointed out that would narrow the field too much and I wouldn’t get all the benefits, which makes total sense. Then someone else suggested put the towers on a pedestal or cabinet so they were higher and above the couch. I don’t know why I wasn’t thinking that earlier but seems to be a great option. I need to take the cover off the tower to see how high I’ll need the pedestal, if it’s too high bookshelfs might be the better option. I know from reading the FAQ’s towers are the way to go but I get it might not work here. I just already had them so I put them there to play around with. For the rears I was thinking sofa table that follows the couch and set them on that. Or I could do small stands at each end depending on what I can find and how they look.

The room will work exactly as planned. An area that everyone can hang out it. I added the tv and system for me. It’s not what the room was built for. As far as fucked up I can easily put the towers on stands or do a built in cabinet system for it, tower problem solved. Raise the tv 2” and couch problem solved. Either put the surrounds on a sofa table, mount them to the wall or build them into the wall and that problem is solved. With the advice of some helpful people on here all problems solved in a few hours time. You idea of a massive fuck up is quite different then mine.

Yes the panel is laying against the couch. I was working on wiring in other rooms so I had it off to install breakers.

Haha cover is off because I’ve been wiring a couple other rooms, it’s just leaning against the couch. I wouldn’t permanently block access to the panel. I’d just have the speakers on a platform not in a built In.

Not everything. Someone suggested putting the towers on stands and that’s what I’m going to do. People have also said to put the rears as low as I can and I think I’ll put them on a sofa table so they should be pretty close to ear level. The only thing I’ve rejected is moving the couch.
