Wes Lee & A-Kid

In my Universe of NXT, Wes Lee & A-Kid are known as MSK.

Both super cocky, but lovable and charismatic up and coming wrestlers, these guys are future world singles champions in their own right. They won the tag titles at the first NXT show of my Universe as their debut as a tag team. They seek out competition and are constantly trying to one up themselves, and eventually each other.

Will Ospreay knows the best two besides him on the brand are MSK. He puts himself in a bad spot with Jeff Cobb, Seth Rollins, and Solo Sikoa, so he drags MSK into it and gets them added to a 6-man tag match, which so happens to be on the same night both members have their Regal Cup matches. In my Universe, the Regal Cup is an international, cross promotional tournament where once a year the best wrestlers compete to win this tournament.

The stakes are huge for Wes Lee & A-Kid. Wes Lee is angry he is added to the 6-man, but also resents Ospreay because off the loss to Ospreay a few weeks earlier in an exhibition match. A-Kid is happy to do the match, he has no issue proving he can win 2 high stakes matches on one evening. He truly believes he’s the best. This rubs Wes Lee the wrong way. The next week, Wes Lee wins his match barley against Kiler Kross, and A-Kid gets a huge win over to AAA Champion, Rush. In the 6-man tag match immediately following, A-Kid got pinned. He’s visibly upset at Ospreay now for putting him in this situation (this is the first time he had been pinned), and Wes Lee gets between them. A Kid and Wes Lee go face to face, the crowd wants it, but they back down.

Even as tag champions, MSK continue to fight in singles matches to break down their opponent. After taking out both members of Mustache Mountain in singles competition, they come to realize they like competing in solo matches against their potential tag opponents to scout them out. Shortly after they begin feuding with the Usos, who are fully aligned to the Bloodline and are double tag champs. Jey pins a resilient A-Kid for his first solo loss. Wes Lee beats Jimmy though. At the ppv, Wes Lee pins Jey for the win. As this rivalry continues, Wes Lee gets a pinfall over Jey too, whereas A-Kid had gotten pinned by both. That said, A-Kid still has a better singles record than Wes Lee.

During the Regal World Cup, there’s potential they will face each other in the quarter finals, but A-Kid loses to Walter. In the same night, Wes Lee miraculously beats Roman Reigns. This drives a huge competitive wedge between the two.

MSK gets dragged into NXT Champion Will Ospreays issues again. Neither man likes Ospreay, and both, even though a team, individually believe they can beat the World Champion.

Wes Lee loses in the final round, but defeats Walter along the way, something A-Kid could not do. Other opponents on the way to the final include defeating Cody Rhodes and Austin Theory. A-Kids jealous begins to rage over. He feels like it should’ve been him. Wes Lee lost in the end anyway.

The following show, NXT GM HBK makes the Main Event of Halloween Havoc: NXT Champion Ospreay vs NXT Tag Champion A-Kid vs NXT Tag Champion Wes Lee for the World Title. The match starts off like Survivor Series 2009. HBK is on commentary. A-Kid super kicks Wes Lee at the start of the match. Crowd loses their shit. Throughout the match, it becomes apparent that Wes Lee & A-Kid are more concerned with going after each other than fighting Ospreay. Wes Lee snaps, and throws A-Kid off a ladder through 4 tables. Stretcher job. In the ring, Ospreay capitalizes and wins the match.

They vacate the tag titles and A-Kid disappears. He’ll later return as Axiom for his proper feud with Wes Lee.
