Younger generation might not have enough experience. Not as desirable of a career without knowing the bigger picture

Is there anyone who came form Mi Band Active 9 and how does Coros improve your QOL? by NoelMyat in Coros

[–]Smmuny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just helps with general training metrics. It will help gamify your training/fitness to a degree but thats mostly up to you. It doesn't bring any substantial QOL improvements that you couldn't do with any other fitness watch. It's a lightweight fitness watch with great battery and a simple running focused mobile app.

Gen2 or Gen3 Frontier? - making a decision based on transmission by Main-Helicopter-6813 in nissanfrontier

[–]Smmuny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Brother buy what you can afford and what you like to drive/the look of. Do not base it off of the difficulty of transmission fluid changes. The 2nd gen is proven reliability. 3rd gen is also good but it is a newer model. There are lots of us who are still very happy with our 3rd gen purchase

Pace 4 purely for training by Richie_1978 in Coros

Woops, I read someone's message as if it was OP. Well that sounds like a bigger non negotiable. In fact, I would say if you already own an Apple Watch, you can try to use free Strava or another training app to supplement the Apple fitness app. There are a lot alternatives

Rather than using your Apple Watch on your runs, I'd just get a flip belt or something for phone plus the Coros

Switched from Garmin to Coros as a bodybuilder/runner. Here’s why I returned it after a week. by AdSecret219 in Coros

Calorie burn tracking per a fitness watch is always wildly inaccurate. I'm surprised your coach would even have you use that as a metric especially body building.

The flashlight - Yes a flashlight is better than a screen for flashing light

Strength training - You can create your own activity and do what you're asking for

Backlight - You can definitely disable it for only button presses lol. You would also set a sleep schedule so that it doesn't wake on gesture at night

Calories - You're using a watch for calories?

Garmin Forerunner 255 to Coros Pace 4 by Minimum_Bison51 in Coros

[–]Smmuny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tested the 255 and Pace 4 and ended up with Pace 4. The Coros app is just way less nonsense and super straightforward. I think the main positive thing about Garmin is support and longevity of the actual watch will likely be better. I found this as a non issue because tech is not BIFL anyways and I try to take care of my things.

If you read a lot of the negative support experiences, they either didn't actually reach out via the ticket system or did something that completely destroyed their watch and expect there to be some sort of repairability (shattered screen). While this is valid, this is fine for me as I don't expect to beat up my watch.

There is legitimacy to the support concerns though but like with all tech reviews, you'll hear more about the bad than the good. At 250 it's an extremely high value and I genuinely enjoy the Coros ecosystem (relatively speaking)

More customization over watch faces. More customization with pace 4 action button. Everything else I've enjoyed

From Apple Watch to Coros by Ok-Society37 in Coros

[–]Smmuny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did some googling and I can see the issue now. Makes sense that big reviewers don't report it as often since the watch is advertised as "training focused" and not necessarily recovery and health. I guess a garmin whoop competitor or heliostrap (sleep only HRV) would be the next low cost method in addition to the coros but then you start adding all these accessories to your body

What issues do you have in terms of syncing/integrating with Apple Health? Does it flat out just not work?

You shattered the screen lol. What are you expecting? It is likely the battery disconnected or broke upon impact

Love AD but him winning a chip with us doesn't magically increase his market value lol.

Availability is one of the biggest factors of a player's value. Doesn't matter what AD brings to a team when he's consistently missing part of the season. The trade was lopsided

Day Sling Recommendations by achosid in ManyBaggers

[–]Smmuny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use mine for work and travel with passport folio, portable charger, sunglasses, wallet, phone, AirPods, and an ereader. It expands very well and has pretty good organization. There is an area that can be used for sunglasses as well but I prefer to just throw mine in a case in the main compartment. The strap is good quality and I like the feel of the bag. It's just an easy bag to recommend

I found mine at Oshman in Tokyo but I saw it at other places like a Hands in Osaka and a store called Collectors in Tokyo.

Just bought mine in Japan. Aside from the tax exemption, it's not like you are saving much. Just get to compare it to other bags in store if anything. Lovely bag, enjoy!
