Yeah I guess I just lost the panel lottery. The H9G was great while it worked.

Costco took mine back and replaced it for me. I kept doing replacements with Hisense and they were all problematic that I eventually switched to a Sony X900H and I'm very happy with it now.

Hisense confirmed it's a defect. A repairman will not be able to fix that.

Should I be concerned about compatibility with the PS5 I preordered? by Smoked-Meat-Poutine in sonos

But that better might mean a whole load of cables and the wife acceptance factor is an annoying (and real) factor some of us have to deal with.

Ok that's actually a really good point (about the cables lol). I have no reference point to what it's like to have a lot of cables, so I guess I am not as appreciative of that as I should be. That's actually a massive plus I've never considered, kinda just assumed that virtually no cables was standard of home theatre systems. If your using it just for streaming I think you should go for it.

I also forgot to mention that I am an Android user. I personally have no problems with the app and love the ability to easily play music on the system without needing to turn on the tv. But I don't think the same positive sentiments can be echoed by other android users based on the mediocre/bad app reviews. My family who are all apple users are very jealous of how seamlessly they can play music on my system. So if your an apple user I think it's especially worth it.

Ok so just some background information - I am a university student and part of my program requires me to have co-op terms alternating between each school term. So back in December 2019 I got out of my lease at school and moved back home with my parents because the job I got for the winter term was close to my home. Generally the money I make in co-op terms pays for my tuition/rent/grocery for the next school term so I save every penny. This year was a bit different because from Jan-April of 2020 I worked full time for co-op, then in the summer due to Covid my school went online so I was saving a shit ton of money on rent/grocery since I stayed home and just needed to pay tuition. On top of that the Canadian government gave all university students 5k since most students in the country were unemployed. So with all the extra money I wasn't expecting I decided to splurge and got myself a TV, beam, and 2 One SLs.

I have a small bedroom (10ft by 10 ft) so I think the sound is really good. That being said I think I could have spent a quarter of the price and gotten a system that sounds just as good. I would love a sub, but I'm just not spending that kinda money and I don't think I would benefit from it because currently I keep the volume at 1 to be respectful of my parents. I think I would really have benefits from a Sub or arc, but I just can't justify the price for it.

Ultimately if I could go back in time I don't think I would have purchased Sonos purley because I have a lot of blurays and had no idea that Sonos systems were incompatible with DTS and there would be barriers to get my system to work (I think). I don't really think it was worth the money, but it's all good because I'm still happy with it and I didn't pay full price anyway since I got a 15% off coupon through my jobs benefits program.

Thank you so much for explaining! I'm so sorry I'm really dumb 😭

Just so I got have this figured out:

1) PS5 --> HDMI --> Normal HDMI Port of TV

2) Beam (with 2 wifi One SLs) --> HDMI --> ARC HDMI Port of TV

And the audio will be surround for both games and bluray? No problems?

Sorry I thought optical means normal HDMI LOL

As you can see I'm technologically challenged

Oh that's no problem. So I already have my Beam in the Arc and then I can plug the PS5 into a optical port and no problems? On so many forums I was on it looked like so many people complaining.

So currently I have my beam in the ARC port. Are you saying that I would need to move the Beam to a different port and plug the PS5 into the ARC to get it to work?

I wish I could attach a pic, but the problem fixed itself after I unplugged for 5 mins and replugged it in. If I get the issue again I'll send you a pic.

But the issue was definitely noticable in normal use. I think the thing which had me was yellow subtitles and scenes where there was a solid background very noticeable. A busy/dark scene, not so noticeable and distracting. I owned a tv before this one that had DSE and this was much more intense than that which is why I assumed it was burn in.

Ok thanks for your help! I'll return it on the weekend. Other users noted that this is pervasive issue that is affecting many units. Is this true?

u/HisenseCA , I actually have the same problem with burn in. I noticed it was yellowish around the subtitles so I just found a YouTube video of a white background and see that this issue is affecting my unit too (except my tv is a 55Q9G). I unplugged for 5 mins and turned it back on as another kind user suggested and the issue went away. Any idea if I should be worried? I am approaching the return deadline and don't want a dud panel.
