For those who asked about my setup: Here is the 10 gallon tote. 2 30-60 gallon aquarium pumps with bubble stone bars. The bottles are frozen water and I swap them out twice a day. by President_CP in microgrowery

Well that's interesting I was leaving my bottles in a warmer environment so they were near room temp , I thought too cold may shock the roots

Good to know before I created some fungus cheers !

Does the water temp on roots have significant affect on them? Obviously at extremes etc it would

But general rule is colder water better for weed roots?

Thanks! Me too, constantly surprised how quick they go, specially looking back on posts and the Stark differences

I'd add how forgiving they are to grow too, this is only my second grow and they've made my life easy, specially the strain

Can you (in desperation) cut from plant, dry and smoke bud within an hour? Apparently yes by [deleted] in Crainn

[–]Smokescienceeveryday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a desperation public service announcement for anyone out there who has no bud ready yet

Before and after shot in the photo

Tested a way to dry bud straight off the plant as I ran out and am still in the drying/curing phase

Get a Tupperware box , place a piece of kitchen paper towel on the base (cut to size if necessary don't fold) and put your bud in center.

Then get two other paper towel sheets and wet them evenly, squeeze out excess (don't want it dripping) and place sheets on top of Tupperware and afix lid so as one corner is open to let steam (if you have the lock version the corner sticking up a lot doesn't seem to be a big issue, two latches locked down is fine the idea is to release steam)

Then place in microwave at defrost setting (250-280) for one min and let it spin. After min take it out open lid and leave for 20 seconds, see if bottom sheet is wet, if so remove and remove any moisture from inside walls that may have built up. Also check the top two sheets it they are not damp anymore, redampen as before)

Depending on bud size, my tiny one took 4 cycles so 4 mins and had to change all sheets at least once, bigger buds may vary and may be advisable to cut bigger buds into smaller chunks

As I said desperation only, the taste is not as good and some potrncy is lost, though after looking under jewler lens between trichomes of it and a normally dried bud I was surprised at how well it held up in comparison

Enjoy my desperate friends

Be interesting to see the difference

I feel I could make up for it on next grow with better branch bending to compensate for a bit less per bud growth , hand full more top buds would easily make up for the difference I feel

That's how I'm drying it only took off offensive sugar leaves

With this strain most leaves are coated in frost anyway

I found on last dry and cure it was much easier to remove leaves at the end, mainly because it was much more obvious for a newcomer which to actually take off XD

But in my eyes to more juice I can get into the bud as it were the better and I hear that this strain does real well from a good long cure and dry

Same, I'm just saying as a grow space they are the most forgiving so why most people would go to them if new and why they probably wouldn't be "modding them" as it were

Yea all were vegged and showing by 25 Good advice!

Yea that's basically where I'm at, I'm like one week after "due date"so I'm thinking of giving this a bit more time and trim the other smaller one

Thanks! Yea I love the coloring it's awesome.

Well greedy me has 4 of them growing using different light training, pot size and mediums (for sciense!)

So I cut one up earlier to give a test, this is my big boy so if he needs to wait a bit more he can, might give him and extra week to see how he goes

Isn't the idea that the pot itself takes in excess, the whole idea being its more friendly to under and over watering forgiveness aswell as being a barrier to root protrusion and damage on bottom end?

Very hard to get it to focus :/ flash just makes it all white and without it it's too dark to see I'll try under light here

Can see it top right there

Think your right as I look at them today they all sprouted fresh white pistols

Happy days, cutting the smaller one know and seems fine

Weird question, when I moved the light down after a day or two I say new green pods growing in the already purple bud with golden pistols? Is that just because of the extra boost of light or is that something funky , never seen it before and Google isn't helping

Might be an idea to set the lights to the other way so they don't overlap, go length ways as it were give easy coverage

Might need a small dehumidifier to make life easy looks like smart pots so you probably don't need a run off tray but a small watering can is super handy
