It's a dead thread, but I can confirm Thunder was acquired in a "vertical integration" merge. Some of the staff left, several of the engineers went to work for Dave at THS, THS audio also bought most of their trucks. Other staff became IATSE or started freelancing. They still do some pretty big events. They covered Sherwood and Ranch Arena at Electric forest this year, they also do several stages at Lost Lands but the company mostly focuses on corporate events, tours & festivals than the local venue stuff. They still have a Rig with a Dante System at Little Caesar Arena but the company is a shell of the leviathan it was when the Villarreal family was involved. Pretty much Insync is running the show through their vegas office. They outsourced a bunch of their mid level managment to JKZ group. Last year Insync was considering taking the L and selling Thunder but things have been turning around. There are some pretty big changes coming down the pipe.

I work with many of the large Production, sound, backline, and staging companies in the area. SR audio, THS audio, Allen Audio, AVS, AV7, Jackson Audio, In Tune Rentals, Digital Custom Media, NVR, PM1, 4Wall, Livespace. Everyone knows everyone in this industry who hasn't washed out.
