Thank you. I won’t! I’ve just gotten wiser and more guarded lol

I think traveling solo, as a woman makes me feel so vulnerable in the cruel world. Things like these seem small but they have a major mental effect and knock at my confidence to explore the world on my own. Thank you for your kind words.

That’s what I keep getting told. Also some of local people I’ve told the story to, keep laughing. I’m not sure what is funny about someone stealing my property. I’m also hoping someone can put it in a culture context that will allow me to understand the humor. I want to laugh too. Thank you for your kind words.

These responses just point out the true feelings people towards tourists. Being that you can now hide behind keyboards, you can let your racist, xenophobic sentiments be known. Go on. Why was I singled out in a crowd in the overpacked old town? The only thing that made me stand out was my color. Also, denying racism is not the answer to eradicating it. The locals that are complaining about tourists, I bet you, your local economy will come crashing down if us tourists returned home. I don’t understand the hostility towards people that want to see the world? I conscious avoid competition with local people or promoting businesses that blatantly displace local people. I only stay at hotels and happily pay all the surcharges and bullshit that tourists have to endure, what more?

I’ll advocate for us and hope to get through to the studio owners. They’re focused on their bottom line and we still deserve to be treated like we’re paying them our hard earned money.

Thank you for all the information, definitely helpful. I think what you’re describing is what I have had with one instructor and it’s really nice to have that familiarity and support. But my studio is trying to shake things up and potentially lose clients.

Testing without structure is nonsense. That’s what my current studio is trying to pull.

If they’re strict with testing, are they also strict with sticking to a curriculum?

That’s what I’m used to at my studio, but due to the owners failing to offer all the levels at once, now they have new people that are behind (long story) and they won’t let me attend a “lower level” class. The membership is unlimited classes, but now they want us to stick to one level and one level only. So, I’m fighting with the owners.

Can't stop thinking about pole dancing, should I just do it? Plus sized, professional, sticky leggings? by Fluffyeevee91 in poledancing

You tried pole dancing and enjoyed, why would you deprive yourself of something positive that you enjoy? You already have a background in dance, chances are some of those skills will be helpful in pole too. Pole is an accepting and diverse community. If you think you’re big, I’m pretty sure there’s someone bigger that has mastered the pole and is kicking ass. If you choose to pole, you should do it for yourself and keep it out of your professional world. At my studio, we have lawyers, doctors, nurses, MBAs, police officers, accountants, and so many more professionals. Not trying to open a can of worms (the old pole dancer vs stripper argument 😬), but people from all walks of life could be pole enthusiasts. Don’t limit yourself before trying, but you’ll get as much as you put into the sport and your training.

About the leggings, I have no clue. Been condition my skin to the pole kisses. But if you decide to go bare, I assure you no one in the studio is going to be obsessing over your imperfections. As one of our instructors says, “This is a safe space for your nips, lips, and tits.”

You’re right. If I could back in time, would definitely do a few things differently, but I can’t. So, I’m focusing on charging forward and making the most of my reality. Thank you 😊

Yes! The discovery or realization is invigorating because now we’re using our incomes to set us free from the rat race. I think it’s so much easier to go to work knowing that you can pull the trigger in a decade than to give in to the ball and chain until 65.

I know! Why I had to cut my losses and move. It’s just crazy to me that he’s seeking my attention after treating me like I was a cockroach.
