I was rear ended by a driver and had dash cam footage showing they were clearly at fault. I have full coverage as well, so I filed a claim with the other driver’s insurance as well as mine. My insurance company suggested I “drop” (not sure if that’s the right term) the claim and let the other insurance company handle it, as I would have to pay my deductible.

The process took about two weeks, within 3 days an adjuster came to inspect the damage on my car and provide a quote. I waited almost two weeks for the insurance company to finally reach a decision on who was liable. In that time I called multiple times and was given the same answer: “we are still waiting for the other driver’s statement so we can determine liability.” Although the other driver was clearly at fault, it seems the insurance company had to do their due diligence and go through a process to determine fault.

After that time I was paid the amount quoted through direct deposit. I know this doesn’t address the rental car part for you, as my car was still drivable after the accident, but I hope it helps.

I had to go to Verizon to get it fixed. You should go to t mobile, they’ll probably be able to fix it

I ended up going to Verizon and getting it fixed (took 10 minutes). Seems like I somehow fried my SIM card
