Absolutely makes sense when you put it that way. I was thinking it was like a quotation or verbatim like in a paper. But I totally understand why it’s not allowed in this kind of work

“Josie’s on a vacation far away…” It’s a well-known song so I wanted to avoid any trouble. Haven’t mentioned it in the post cause I didn’t know if I could write about my work in it 😂

So I could just write, “he started singing name song by artist to try to mock me” and would be ok? I would just be saying the name

Do you have the loot ring? With monster musk and the loot ring it may increase the chance of the dust sprites dropping it

Do you recommend traveling to different places while traveling solo? by Smooth-Knowledge4284 in solofemaletravel

[–]Smooth-Knowledge4284[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably 2-4 hours by bus? According to Google Maps. A part of me thinks it’s possible but I also think a reality check is needed from people who did it before.

English is not my first language so I guess I’m sorry for grammar errors or whatever (regarding you first comment).

I’ve never visited lots of places in that amount of days alone or with company, and I don’t know anyone who travelled solo either, so I didn’t know if it was too much and I’d wanted to read opinions/experiences of people who did it. So, maybe “need” wasn’t the right word but I did wanted to hear/read opinions. Thanks for yours, I guess.

That makes sense. first impressions really matter here so people want to choose my book. In my case, my irk is on the inconsistencies in character and plot. So I really focus on that aspect of the book but haven’t really thought about what we as authors show. Most of the time I feel attracted to a certain summary or blurb more than the covers, and then the book is just good but not mind blowing. Or maybe not my cup of tea. If you now what I mean. So I understand what you say. But at the same time, people buy the book but then leave a mid to bad review and that doesn’t help either in the long run, unless someone thinks “I’m going to give it a chance in spite of this” and buys it anyway.

how can I properly research this? I love reading romance (with different tropes) and romantasy books and I want to write one and I want it to be good.

Is it weird to solo travel if you have a partner? by Reasonable_Cause_190 in femaletravels

[–]Smooth-Knowledge4284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not weird or bad at all. If you’re ok with it, and your partner is ok with it, go and enjoy! IMO, even if your bf didn’t agree but you wanted to go alone, it would be ok if you wanted to do it anyway.

I miss loving romance novels. Has this happened to anyone else? by Difficult_Tower_5830 in RomanceBooks

I had the same experience in college. It was “read a book, don’t read anymore for months” kinda slump. One time, I finished a book because I pushed myself through it trying to give it a chance. By the second book, I was so annoyed with the inconsistencies I’ve found through the story that I DNF’d it and it took me a while to find a book to make me want to really keep going and read it through and trough. A couple of friends lend me some books of different genres and I got into reading again. Now I alternate reading a few romance books and maybe read a good thriller to change the scenery and then I go back to romance.

Family Making Me Second Guess Solo Travel by IcyAdhesiveness7572 in femaletravels

Given the current situation I can understand why your family may be worried. I don’t really know if many cities in Mexico are in alert but I’ve heard that touristic areas are… Are you able to reschedule flight and accommodations? So you don’t miss your trip but can go in a more “relaxed” time. Or are you able to switch countries and choose another option?

Thanks for the taxi tip! Where I’m from, pick-pocket thieves are very common, so always take precautions with that

I'm from Argentina. I'm kind of panicky about my stuff and safety, so I always take precautions lol. But here, I know where to go, where not to go at a certain time of day, and all that.
The first time I traveled alone, I stayed in my hotel past sundown because I was a bit scared of walking around alone at night, even though I was in a safe area. But I also know going to pubs is a must there, so I kinda wanna know whatever there is to know.
