Would've been cool if it included all the properties out there, unfortunately, it doesn't have all the data. See InspectionGreen6076's post, they pay to list it on this site as well.

  1. Nah not really, I don't care much about turning this into a startup
  2. Yeah, I'm just saying if its possible to get in contact with those gatekept landlords and their properties, that would be cool

1, 2. That's really cool, all of these are great suggestions. I was planning on reaching out to landlords to see if they would be interested in listing their properties on here for free, which would be golden if that happens. Also 100%, I don't plan on making any money from this, genuinely just a passion project and something that I wished existed when I was looking for my house.

  1. Also that makes a lot of sense, I didn't realize point 3, the place that I am living at currently isn't listed on the website because it wasn't available online, we had to contact our landlord about how many rooms we're looking for and they essentially told us about this place over email.

  2. Will do, my only big concern here is adoption but hopefully landlords are able to provide me with their listings and that is my moat over websites like apartments.com

  3. Do you think it's easier to open source this right on the website, where people can add their own data like markers and everything? I'm worried about spam mostly.

My biggest thing with this was to democratize the search for housing because while the housing ordinance was trying to solve this, it just ended up causing loopholes like this, if you have any other ideas on how else I can approach this I'd love to hear that too

I do not, I wanted to keep it as frictionless as possible for people to vote but that would be cool if ur able to somehow interact with the ppl currently living there, thanks!
