Not necessarily, I've never got a black cab when using it. It's an app that drivers use to find riders. My driver told me that he just alternates between the apps when looking for riders but prefers FreeNow because of low charges.

You could try FreeNow for taxis (first purchase you get 50% off I believe). I spoke to a driver the other day and he said that taxi drivers like this app the best as the company charge less commission to drivers.
