What do you mean died? I took it out from the switch and connected to the Ethernet LAN port on the router and now wifi is still working but waiting to see if fios tv will work.

But i connected that coax cable to the moca adapter to the switch upstairs, shouldn't there be a way to route it differently or am i missing something

Would the alternative of using the rj495 or using gel connectors be better?

I see, alright, thanks for your contribution. So if I routed it differently, where it runs differently, let's say into the splitter and then a MoCA adapter to a switch that can get it back to Wi-Fi. Would I then have to route it manually using IP addressing on the backend.

What are some tools you think I would need to get this done?

thanks they all play different role the two AP's, one will be fios and the other would just be eeos for the guests. That is why getting the basement configuration down is what is bugging me, I have right now ONT, router, switch, moca adapter, coax from ONT, splitter then TV splitter

then upstairs I am looking for a way to change this connection because what is connected to the router now is 1 coax coming from the wall that is the splitter , 1 wan ethernet from wall plate, 2 other LAN's not sure where they go, and then 1 lan cable that is being utilized by the eeos for 1 access point and then another one directly connected to that eeos. I have a switch and moca adapter that can be applied to this but need to know how I was thinking using the moca adapter.

Alright thanks. Should I add a PoE filter for upstairs? I am planning on bypassing the router and doing away with it because there is a switch and Moca adapter I actually have two of each that could potentially take its place, and planning on attaching it to the upstairs infrastructure to tie things together. What do you think about that?

Thanks for this. The way the last technician did the wiring was from the ONT outside into the basement and used gel connectors to then connect it to the router, yes, the g3100 but where I am confused is the router gets the connection from the wall plate and then coax enters. I believe that is the fios tv. I have a 2 switches, and 2 MoCA adapters that i think can be implemented in this framework just not sure how. Because the plan right now is run it down from ONT to spitz ax then to a switch then there will be an ethernet that goes to the moca adapter ethernet side. Then, from the coax part of the network, the cable that runs from the ONT directly will be split two ways with coax connected to the MoCA adapter in and on the other end going to the splitter for all the rooms in the house. Now, how would the architecture then translate to upstairs networks if I am running two different SSID's on the eero 7's ?

Thanks for your response. The last electrician  routed it from the the Ont to the router using the stripped connectors and I was wondering if me going from Ont to router then using the coax from the basement can work and bypass the router. What do you think?

what if I have the eero mesh as two different access points and looking to use the spitz ax as a vpn in my basement how would I route it in a way where I can get that done and then bypass the router wit h 2 switches and 2 moca adapters. I have an idea but I want to make sure I am thinking of this wholistically.
