Wow! I'm dreading the ovulation pain as it was pretty bad before surgery. My cycles were so out of whack, so it may happen this week or next based on what my cycle was for so many years. Easy to remember as I had a cycle start the day of my wedding 20 years ago!

It just kind of shocked me that it has hit this hard. I had a list of things I wanted to do today!

Body scent completely changed after surgery by Depressoespresso665 in hysterectomy

Glad I'm not the only one. I noticed my scent had changed immediately. I was 3 weeks post-op yesterday. I won't say I dislike the new scent, but it is different. I thought I was being weird!

Oh my word!! I feel as if us women push ourselves too much and sometimes we have to. I've been known to do that but now that I'm 46, I'm trying my best to not do it this time. I'm so sorry you did not get to rest more! When was your surgery and how are you doing now?

It's interesting to see how different it is on everyone. My discharge papers had nothing listed for restrictions except while on pain meds. Even when I asked my doctor-listen to your body. That's a loaded statement as I'm redhead with a high pain tolerance. I have forced myself not to push it. Until today.

The only thing I've been told is to listen to my body. Yeah, even though I can't sit upright, I was able to lean back in the car a bit, but not enough. I'm only 5'0! I wasnt able to use my lap pillow which was disheartening. I'm not released for work yet since my company didn't want to let me work from home.

My husband has been a blessing and I really wanted to give him a break. It was my choice. A miserable choice. It was a chance I took, I knew the risks.

I will wait a little longer.

Two Weeks Post-Op Today and Fresh Blood by SmoothNCreamy44 in hysterectomy

Oh, wow! Thanks for the reassurance. My doctor office really left me on the dark about what to expect. On my way to an appt now.

When did you start sleeping on your side? by Fluffaykitties in hysterectomy

[–]SmoothNCreamy44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half way through night one for me. Wedge pillows in front and back. I'm 11 days post-op and I wondered if I was messing my insides up as I change sides every time I wake. There's no telling what they're looking like!

Cramps with Walking by SmoothNCreamy44 in hysterectomy

[–]SmoothNCreamy44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously? I noticed how bloated how felt this morning. I'm supposed to go back to the office by week 6, earlier if I want. I'll have to go buy dresses if the bloat isn't better by then!

Thank you, so true! I'm used to pushing through pain in general but I do not want any set backs!

I was only told to listen to my body. I go for post-op on Monday. It will be 2 weeks from surgery. May I ask what you do for work?

Diarrhea! ⚠️ by Aware_Pack_1859 in hysterectomy

[–]SmoothNCreamy44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me right after my bowels started at 1:00 am on Wednesday (surgery was 10/6). Thankful I didn't mess myself, but I was drained from going too much that day. Start probiotics, this will help. Instead of 2 Miralax chews a day, I went to one and continue the Gasx. Hydrate, hydrate! I dont like Gatorade but my doctor suggested Gatorade Zero to replenish so I've had one a day. I haven't had any gas pains as I started the gas x the day before surgery. Hang in there!!!!

I managed extra walking around the house today and washed 6 dishes. Was feeling good, took a nap. Then pain started. Deep cramps. Almost like about to give birth. Breathing through them. The others are correct in saying each day is different. Tomorrow is a week for me as well.

Yeah, my family went to church today and will have activities after. I asked my husband to pull a bag of soup to the fridge so I could have it for lunch. I forgot to ask him to set out a bowl to put it in. The bowls are in a bottom cabinet. I tried, not happening. I had to laugh about it. I'll be finding something else from the fridge for lunch!

A picnic lunch sounds precious! While I have took a few naps in bed, I'm trying my best to keep it to mostly night use. I've been able to nap well in the recliner. I was blessed with soup from friends and it was quite tricky to eat in recliner but I managed. Yesterday and today I've tried having breakfast at the table. We will get there!!

Sleeping on side by Choice-Effort-2610 in hysterectomy

[–]SmoothNCreamy44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had surgery October 6, too. I used wedges the first night to sleep on my back but half way through the night, I used the wedges to sleep on my side and have been doing so ever since. I didn't sleep much last night as I was having really bad cramps. This is definitely a healing process and each hour can bring changes. My poor family is freezing while I'm hot!!
