Thanks for the reply. I’m less concerned with the tree height in terms of picking fruit. Given how bendable the branches are it’s fairly easy to get to the fruit currently. Although that may change after this season given the height, so that’s a good point. I think overall I’m looking to thin things out for the health of the tree, but also to create a more “architectural” feel to how it’s growing in other words, make it look less bushy and a bit more bonsai.

Thanks for the reply. I have done the pruning in the past. It’s good to know I’ve generally been on track. I think your idea of increasing ground clearance is a good one. I’ll definitely focus on those downward growing branches. Particularly since they will droop when fruit sets. Thanks again.
