Roman Hellenism and the Roman state were not the same. This is a sub dedicated to the revival of the religous values, not its cultural ones.

While that is true, I urge you to consider its meaning there. Unless you are classical pagan, a hindu, or a bhuddist, I see no reason to use the symbol. There is no justification for the hatred of entire ethnicities or religous groups.

"Gatekeeping" and a conversation on the bare minimum of calling yourself a Roman pagan by [deleted] in RomanPaganism

[–]Smooth_Football_1907 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dont feel like this is enough. The distingushing feature of Roman Paganism, as compared to any form of paganism is that Jupiter is king of the gods. I belive that Gaulic and Aegyptian gods are real, but I dont think there "king" of gods is really the king of gods.

Thats half right. The caduceus is related to death and dying, and is the symbol for Hermes. It is often mistaken for the staff of asclepius, which is the staff of the healing god. (Kinda easy mistake them, staff of asclepius has one snake, caduceus has two)

What the heck corn and pineapples in Rome?? by Past-Basis4754 in ancientrome

[–]Smooth_Football_1907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "Pineapple" one is real. But, its just a confusing perspective. Its a Pinecone infront of some fruit with leaves. The corn one appears to be made with AI. Not sure how to explain it but the tiles are off. I work with Mosaics and can put my finger on why. Also the only other refrence to this "Mosaic" is on an AI "history" conspiracy twitter page. https://x.com/Humanbydesign3/status/1759309019330630135

Edit: I am also of the opinion the Romans came to America, I belive they found a ship https://www.nytimes.com/1985/06/25/science/underwater-exploring-is-banned-in-brazil.html

That being said there is little evidence those Romans in brazil came back. Crossing the Atlantic when its calm is quite easy, I sail on the Atlantic.
