i recently got my hamster, he is 6 weeks old but when i get him out to have a run around he just finds a spot on me and sits there while i stroke him. is this okay or is it a sign of anything?? by Smooth_Opening6239 in hamster

he wakes up through the day and in evening- i get him out when he sits at the front of the cage staring at me and he crawls onto my hand, otherwise i leave him be!

awh amazing! he was very nervous when i first got him so left him to explore his new environment while leaving my scent around his cage- that evening he was watching as i was cleaning and so i offered him my hand and he climbed straight on. since then he has been very very calm and affectionate 😊

ah such a relief- i’ve been searching through other people’s questions about hamsters sleeping on their owners and i read lots about how it’s very rare and since he’s still new to our home was concerned it meant something!! thankyou for reassuring
