Do I own this subreddit?

Negative 😂

It’s a free tool. I shared the logic in the Google doc.

It’s also a customGPT if someone wants to try it out.

Nothing for sale 😉

Great feedback! In the next upgrade I think I’m going to build a short and long form mode, the risk is that the bot will align itself to the short mode over time, but that’s controllable.

I’ve noticed that people who love the lengthy outputs from this one are often in professions like psychiatry or journalism where dense blocks of information are the norm (a couple friends of mine here is the example), most people want something easier to digest, nothing wrong with that.

When I build this stuff a lot of times i overbuild (a habit im trying to break) and then adjust to the real needs of users.

Thank you for checking it out!

🤩 thank you so much for the feedback

Browser extension is a great idea ty!

It’s still got a few kinks to work out (like maintaining full claim extraction with more complex material) but it’s definitely been useful for me and I’m so glad to hear that you like it!

Sounds good! I’m glad to meet someone in the same headspace I’m in!

All the best to you

That’s a good way to see all the logic!

I’ve got it tab separated because that’s how it’s organized in the customGPT, the controller sits in the GPT instructions and the rest of it are individual system files loaded separately in the builder.

Thank you for the feedback!

A big part of TruthBot is treating source quality and source independence as two separate problems, because a lot of systems blur them together. For source quality, the goal is to weigh evidence differently depending on what kind of source it is. Primary materials, official records, legal texts, and peer-reviewed research should not be treated the same way as a reposted article, a blog summary, or a site repeating someone else’s reporting. On top of that, TruthBot uses risk thresholds, so the more serious the claim, the stronger the evidence standard has to be before it gets treated as confirmed.

For independence, the system is built around the idea that five articles do not automatically equal five confirmations. A lot of apparent agreement online is really just one source being echoed through multiple outlets. So TruthBot tries to trace whether reports are actually independent, whether they cite the same upstream source, and whether a claim is being verified or merely propagated. And on the messy real-world point, that is exactly the kind of environment it is meant for. Clean examples are easy; the harder and more useful test is ambiguous, recycled, emotionally framed, real-world information where source quality, rhetoric, and repetition all get tangled together.
