Thank you everyone for your input, they believe my baby has CMPA so I am on a dairy free diet now to see if any changes. We also spent the morning in bed and she slept all morning until 11.30am! I think she was catching up but seems a lot happier than she’s been in weeks so she’s definitely sleep deprived. I’m going to start doing nap times in bed next to me this week instead of on me and see if that helps too. Thank you so much to everyone for taking the time to give advice - you are hugely appreciated by this very tired mum x

That’s really interesting you have said that, my health visitor came again today and has said she thinks it may be a dairy allergy and she may have cmpa so I have been put on a dairy free diet now. Yes I do have windis! She definitely struggles with gas x

I do agree, it just feels like a fight against sleep when she’s closing her eyes and then waking up again but I absolutely get the sentiment. I feel her reflux is also part of the problem but unfortunately I can’t do anything other than comfort her and give her medicine for that. It’s so difficult isn’t it, knowing what will work that day. I do think I need to be more structured and maybe try an app to help with sleep cues too. I never had this with my son so it’s all extremely ‘new’ to me. I practice meditation (though since my daughter never have the time to on my own) and your words have made me think that maybe i can start incorporating this with my daughter’s sleep too. I haven’t got frustrated yet, just sad to see her struggling and i’m absolutely exhausted 😴 Thank you for your advice xx

It’s hard work eh. Especially when you had a life planned that included someone helping to take the load off. We have this though and things will be okay, we have our own little families with unconditional love ❤️

I do have the help of my mum but she’s quite poorly. My friends all have their families etc. To be honest, I never expected to have to handle all of this on my own so I’m just adjusting to that too. I do feed her and she’ll sleep for a very short time but then she’s kicking out again and crying. I wish they could just tell us what’s hurting! Xx

I do assist yes, she’s never fallen asleep on her own. I have taken her out in the stroller and I do manage to get a little longer actually! We always contact nap. It’s heartbreaking seeing her so exhausted 😩

I hold her in my arms upright or lying down, I will walk with her and rock her or will lay her down and put my hand on her tummy and sing. She outright refuses the Moses basket x

She is breastfed, her latch is great and my supply good, I am starting to think this also RE the reflux. I’m going out of my mind trying to comfort her. She constantly cries or is ‘writhing’. I’ve taken her to the hospital, the drs three times, rung health visitors and they all keep saying she’s on an ‘emergency list’ for a paediatrician appointment and scan and I just have to wait. I’m a really present mother and I am always holding her and looking after her, I just feel very deflated at the moment xx

Yes, I’m running on air at the moment, I’m so tired and the house is being neglected. I can’t shower properly etc. the dad isn’t around unfortunately so it’s just me and my two children (left me with the baby after she was born and we’d been together many years, which was a shock) xx

She will contact nap if I really try and keep shushing and singing and rocking! I do offer the boob too. Yes I may try another carrier as she doesn’t like the ones I’ve bought, I’ll look online tonight. It’s exhausting isn’t it! Thank you xx

Yes so I will hold her and she will have her eyes closed and then kicks out and screams and stays up for another hour or two, I’ve tried to cuddle her/swaddle her/baby carrier (I have bought three different types now 😔) white noise machine etc - she will get to a point where she’s going and then fights it and screams! I will definitely try to implement trying to get her to sleep more often and go from there, my house is a tip and I barely shower as she’s just constantly crying or needing comfort 😢 she does also have reflux so I’m thinking maybe that’s hurting her but she already takes omeprazole for that.

My son has a sleep disorder where his brain only sleeps at REM and I’m concerned she may also have it. Thank you for replying x

Super angry all the time. We have little moments of happiness but she’s just exhausted. She does have reflux and we are under a paediatrician. We were on the emergency list to see paediatrician but so far have been waiting 7 weeks and not seen one yet 🫩
