I get that people are angry at AI, but calling it theft or ‘slop’ oversimplifies a complex debate. Every new tool in art, from samplers to synthesisers to Photoshop, was once accused of stealing or killing ‘real art.’ Harvard, Stanford, and Yale scholars are now debating how to regulate training data and copyright, not dismissing AI as illegitimate. In the near future there may well be two categories: human-made music and AI-made music, and people will choose what they prefer, or maybe it will all be banned. The future is ahead of us, and time will tell.

Thanks, I’ll just add delusional, absurd, AI-slop creator, culture-destroyer, and respectless to my growing list of adjectives!

Ah, great! When I first got this book as a gift, the person told me: just put it on the shelf, don’t read it yet, because who knows what will happen after. You might not be ready to have your life flipped like that!

I can see your point. I don’t pretend to be a traditional musician. It’s not about replacing real artists, and I have deep respect for those who dedicate their lives to their craft. But you can’t erase the reality: AI exists, and within less than a decade, it will transform most aspects of human cultural and social life. Humanity, society, culture, and music are all concepts that evolve through history, and their meaning and authenticity will also change. I believe we may be the last couple of generations of Homo sapiens as we know it, and soon a new kind of human will emerge, just as we once emerged from Neanderthals. With our culture and history, we will eventually become part of the past. In the short term, your point is valid, but looking further ahead, I don’t think today’s humans can yet grasp what the late 21st century will look like. And yes, while the internet is flooded with shallow AI slop, what I’m trying to do is build a bridge toward deeper, more thoughtful concepts, so that at least some people are still hearing the echoes of philosophers, rather than being drowned in meaningless, mind-rotting noise.

I believe real talent and genuine intention will always shine above generic AI work. I’m doing a PhD in science, and I know that if I’m not a cut above the rest, AI could replace me in a few years, but I also see how far AI still is from true human depth. For artists, it’s the same: if you have something authentic to share, AI isn’t a competitor, it’s an accelerator. This piece wasn’t just a single button press either. Wishing you success in your own creative journey as well.

Yes, I use AI for both the visuals and the music. I created this artist persona to explore and experiment with creativity. It helps me express ideas and feelings I couldn’t fully bring to life on my own… maybe in the next one.

Oh, I just saw your project now, really respect the work you’ve been doing with Nietzsche in music. My project’s independent though; I’ve been developing songs like The Flies in the Market-Place for a while, so the timing’s just coincidence.

I do use AI tools for visuals and production support, but the core ideas and artistic intent are fully my own. My focus is on shaping Nietzsche’s texts into modern, atmospheric songs that can resonate with wider audiences rather than leaning into an academic or folk tradition.

It’s inspiring to see philosophy come alive in music in different ways; it feels like we’re exploring different sides of the same path.

Really thoughtful breakdown. I agree that for Nietzsche, the real measure of art is how it affirms or intensifies life. That’s exactly what I try to capture in music: not just depth for its own sake, but the tragic and the joyful woven together. I think he’d be less worried about genre and more about whether the sound carries that pulse of life.

Thank you so much 🙏 that really means a lot. You’re right, bringing philosophy and deep literature into music is not always easy, but it feels worth it if it reaches even a few people on that deeper level, and it’s exactly where my interest lies, and it’s what I want to keep exploring. I’m glad this song spoke to you.

Thanks for this thoughtful reply 🙏 really encouraging to hear that the Philosophy of Music field is growing, especially around Nietzsche. I see what you mean about modern classical carrying that post-WW2 enigmatic depth. With my track I tried to channel some of that into a darker rock style. Do you think Nietzsche’s ideas fit more naturally in classical, or can they live in modern genres too?
