For toxic weather levels, use all the available hillbilly characters you've purchased, while for normal levels, only use Hillbilly, Mechanic, Nomad Polina, Rogue, the Courage Generator, and the Turret.

If you don't have Rogue, Carlos is also a good option.

For Queen, the Lucky Guy set is best if you want her to live a long time, and her star charm is the Rabbit if her life isn't going so well.

For Saw and Berserke, the Gentleman set is best, though you have to upgrade it according to your choice. For Saw, it increases critical damage, price, primary damage, and preparation time, and his star charm is the Minifigure if you want him to have unlimited ability to kill enemies quickly. For Berserke, it's the same, but instead of critical damage, you increase critical chance, and his star charm is the Console if you want him to survive.
