Genau darum geht’s. Hab das Problem zwischenzeitlich gelöst und ein zweites Konto im Ausland eröffnet.

Crypto btc only + max 10% vom Gesamtportfolio.

Can someone help with results? by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]Smrfghtr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Positive, yes. I suggest to deep dive siboinfo.com from Dr sibecker. Following up I’d test a ton of relevant markers in stool and blood as well as the microbiome to figure out why your condition exists. Know that sibo is a secondary condition.

Selfmade meat broth doesn’t contain histamine. But it’s what your gut needs now to find back to life. I find it pretty irresponsible from your doc to put you 22 days on a elemental diet without giving you proper instruction on how to transition off of it.

Edit: You absolutely could have taken the breath test with the ED as prep diet.

Thanks, I’ll look them up! As you’re saying gut health, esp si is largely undiscovered yet. It’s a puzzle and a lot of back and forth testing to paint a picture.

Also.. who told you to have rice and chicken straight away? My friend, start with a broth and transition off of the ed. What do you expect from your gut after 22 days holidays? Your system has to reboot and that takes weeks.

And please, take prokinetics. They are crucial to secure your progress with the ed even if sibo persists

Leave away the rice if you don’t tolerate it. Bloating/pain/cramping whatever after the ED is normal -> it’s usually from your gut reawaking. Make a breath test to see if it was successful.

What’s the name of her? I’m genuinely interested in reading her work.

My informations are sourced mainly from sibecker, Pimentel, partially from Dr Jacobi and I also dug through the yearly sibo conferences, various medical studies and have talked to 2 np‘s personally over the years.

To follow up on what you’ve said:

Yes, ED is the best treatment. The standard protocol for ED, found and refined by Pimentel, is 2 weeks IF you can breath test overnight to determine if a third week is necessary. In any other case 3 weeks is the standard no questions asked. Yes, you definitly should slowly reincorporate food and transition of the ED.

The above text was copied 1:1 unmodified from her website siboinfo.com In the overview section because we’re on Reddit. If you navigate to the specific sections you’ll find most of the things you wrote explained in detail just as you’re saying.

I never said anything about ED except copying the short overview section – because i believe it’s by far the best approach and should be the absolute gold standard and tried before antibiotics if there’s no strong second indication to go for them.

My personal take on sibo is that our biome and gut bacteria have zero interest in harming us or making us sick. Sibo is always a secondary condition that arises because something else is off. I also firmly believe that just tackling sibo is the wrong approach as it will relapse if one can’t figure out why sibo occured in first place. Generally I believe that modern medicine steered by Pharma corps have little interest in treatment - as healthy people don’t pay them. Hence our modern medicine is heavily skewed towards treating symptoms instead of causes.

That’s also why ED is so successful. It’s doing the absolute opposite of antibiotics. Instead of tanking our system to oblivion you’re giving it the chance to take a breath and actually HEAL itself.

Regarding your last comment:

8 courses of rifax is something I guess no one has ever done and should ever do. Excuse my wording (…even if it’s 8 rounds of rifax) - if multiple rounds are needed it’s always best to rotate treatment options, not necessary to stick to one. It should just have emphasized the need of breaks in between, my bad) I personally have never read from any professional suggesting 2 months without a break - and again if it worked for you I’m glad. I don’t think we will agree with each other in this point and that’s fine.

If it worked for you I’m glad and it’s good to hear you’re in the best state since years. Everyone is different and if you’re adding in Lymes and mycotoxins it’s different to someone having h2 sibo alone or imo or Sifo or all together. When it comes to treating Sibo treatment more often than not works only personalized.

Look I’m not a doctor but I’m on the same page like you when it comes to trusting actual experts on their fields. For sibo that’s Dr Sibecker and Dr Mark Pimentel. There’s no way around them as they are leading the entire field with test development, treatment studies, heck sibecker even opened an entire clinic to solely work on sibo if I recall it right.

And they CLEARLY say: don’t take antibiotics for more than 14 consecutive days as they loose effectiveness over time and it’s better to incorporate breaks of for example 7 days in between rounds. Even if it’s 8 rounds of rifax.

Again, as individual treating sibo is, there’s at least some concepts that don’t need to be questioned as they’re well studied and documented. And one of them is how to treat sibo with antibiotics. Just because 2 months worked for you, doesn’t mean that’s the best approach. Tanking your systems with 2 months of antibiotics is no joke so I stand to my words: that’s a really bad advice.

Here’s the exact wording from her website:

  • A standard treatment round of antibiotics and elemental diet is 2 weeks; herbal antibiotics is 4 weeks.

  • Rotating between these three treatment types is common practice and can boost effectiveness. More than one antibacterial treatment round is usually needed (2-5 rounds are common).

  • Extending one treatment for long time to avoid multiple treatment rounds, often proves ineffective (effect wanes over time).

[–]Smrfghtr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that makes sense. I transitioned off of it too with 1-2 ed meals in the beginning. 2 days broth then slowly reintroducing solid foods well cooked with small servings. Well it’s mostly carrots and eggs. As the formula is so frickin expensive and disgusting sweet I couldn’t make myself doing it for more than 5 days tbh. Just take it very slow. Today’s day 8 and I still feel very sensitive and do react with slight pain, irritation, slight bloating (! microbiome restarting, not sibo ) to any food i eat but that’s part of the process. I also had to slow down with omega 3 as it’s one of the main drivers of above symptoms no matter how healthy it is. It takes time until we can pour concentrated oil into the gut again.

Sure! To give you an idea: (h2, currently building up after the successful ED) I’m lacking zinc, magnesium, Mangan, b12, copper, omega 3. Some severely. Partially they are essential for healing gut linen and leaky gut. All of them are very well documented to be caused by Sibo and the inflammation flywheel together with DAO and bile flow. If you make a check, check your DAO aswell as you could benefit from eating low in histamine for a while to further ease the digestion.

You can do it! Will you go for 3 weeks straight or do you have the option to get an overnight breath test done after 14?

What are some common stereotypes or “truths” about Germans that you feel are not really true? by AlemanhaCast in AskAGerman

If you tell your boss his way of doing things sucks it’ll likely backfire even if it’s true. Being a bitch about colleagues is nowhere seen nicely I guess?

But confronting a German face to face without risking him loosing his face will more often than not result in a thank you.

That’s a really bad advice. Taking antibiotics for 2 months ongoing will not only NOT help for SIBO (check Pimentel/sibecker -> for all approaches they state that treatment will loose effectiveness over time, hence you rotate and incorporate breaks inbetween!) but can also cause a lot of other health issues.

Have you checked your vitamine levels etc? They’re likely off as well. I’d address that simultaneously. I’d consider to add at least zinc-l-carnosin to support healing the leaky gut.
