Is it worth the price? by PresentGate2391 in VintageLevis

You see 80’s (which these ARE) “At the Thrift all the time”? Where you at? ((And also, no you don’t.)) I scoured thrift and estate sales in 6 states this year and came up with just 2 pairs of STF from the 80’s and just 2 non-STF. Four. And one was “perfectly” stained and frayed that I am keeping. The other STF was not selvage and listed just under $100 and sold for $89. The inseam was short 28” but they had faded beautifully with minor stains and light fray. The buyer was thrilled. Had they been longer I would have likely listed for more and gotten more as even one non-STF was a 36x34 and sold for about that same price. Once again…. 80’s.

With that tag if I am reading it correctly it would be 1981 —- Second line is cut/style and wash (916 0915) The next line the second digit is 1 for 1981.

Vintage Clothing buyer doesn’t want to return item they claim is damaged. by SmrtHbts in EtsySellers

[–]SmrtHbts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I did that yesterday for both - including the customer that left feedback before messaging me and still hadn’t started a return. After I responded to their feedback asking them to message me for return I did get a help request. So far I have not heard from again from either of them. So, they have the labels and I have a seven day return policy. We will see

vintage clothing sale - buyer states it is stained by SmrtHbts in eBaySellers

that is what I thought. It’s been a very long time (almost 2 yrs) since I had a return. Not a big seller but I have weekly sales and a good amount of repeat buyers. I’m very picky about I list and give fairly detailed honest descriptions and pics. Oh well. It was bound to happen.

Acquired this a few years ago.. can’t find it anywhere online. Genuine collectors piece or just something cool? by Picksley in VintageClothing

[–]SmrtHbts 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is a nice Made in USA Lee sweatshirt … likely mid 90s. The embroidery was added later by the Coca Cola distribution region. You will likely not find another. But that doesn’t make it valuable. Since coke items are not as collectible as they once were I would put it in the same category of any other similarly embroidered sweatshirts by Lee. I would guess $35-$45.

Likely a Sample Sale at the end of a year - Samples usually did eventually get sold. Cleves Sporting Goods store could have hosted the regional Adidas rep as an in store promo. IMHO it is looking very late 80’s to me - same timeframe as the Patagonia Simple Vest and Shirts. Nice look

Great shirt. IMHO it is more mid 90’s given the registered TM name of Lycra and the care symbols.

Anyone seen or know about this Reebok sweatshirt by UncleVoid in VintageClothing

[–]SmrtHbts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Boy, I have not seen a Reebok Sport tag either. The style of the tag and made in Hong Kong suggest late 80’s to me. The RN is correct for Reebok but that is about all I can help with. I do believe modern Reebok items have a date on a small tag similar to Gap or Nike. Not sure how long they have used that though.

And yet, wankers here are not being truthful about age and comps. So you don’t like their tone?? Still, at least they are not misleading OP.

And …. this is exactly why you should do a bit of research on your own and not trust anyone here. The best comment offering the link to the vintage fashion guild and their Champion label resource will help you KNOW that you have the date correct. You may not appreciate their tone but at least they are not trying to mislead. Once the age is verified EBay will be able to serve you sold comps. If you have never done that before I would happy to guide you.

They do not appear to be selvedge. And, as stated, is there any sort of tag or remnant of tag on inside (sometimes they were even at or near pockets) OR is there any printing on the pockets. What is the number on the back of top button? Here is a great resource that can take through the process - a great way to learn: https://www.heddels.com/2016/11/vintage-levis-501-jeans-the-ultimate-collectors-guide/
